Hi, I need some ideas for really inexpensive souvenirs for the kids in dd4's preschool class. So far, all I can come up with are Mickey straws. Now, that's really inexpensive, but I wouldn't mind spending more than $0.25 per kid. Say $1 to $2 per kid?? There are 16 in the class including dd, half girls half boys, all 4-5 yrs old. We'll be going to MK, AK, Epcot, and Downtown. Thanks for your input!

When we were there in 2007 there was a "dollar store" in Downtown Disney that had lots of things discounted. It was a little of the beaten path but over near the store that carries all the Winnie the Pooh things. I remember that they has pens, wash cloths, coin purses.......Happy Hunting!

There are cheap mickey lollipops a few for a dollar...

but you can prob. get a bunch of free mickey stickers from a cast member or at guest services. The kids would probably love those...

I'm trying to think of others...hmm...coloring books?

The Downtown Disney cheap store is everything under $10...so you may be able to find something there. Good luck!

We got a ton of postcards and created labels before we left with each child's address and teacher's address at the school. Then we sent those after dd signed all of them. Then we bought the chocolates that looked like coins with Disney characters on them and divided those amongst the class upon return as well as lollypops and pencils. We also bought Mickey Macaroni for art projects once back in the class. The teacher loved that!

It was fun watching our dd pick out the postcards for everyone and her friends were so thrilled to get mail! After that trip, we did it again a few times for a few closer friends and I wrote out messages in Disney font on labels and stuck them to post cards too - made it easier! LOL It's very nice to think of your little one's classmates. Folks thought we were nuts when we did it.

Mickey Mouse straws! I think they are 50 cents each and are sold in the food courts along with other places (maybe the gift shops?).

These are all great ideas - thank you! DD's school is a co-op, so all of the parents have had a few opportunities to spend the day with the kids. Plus, many of the parents have become good friends of mine, and the kids as a group have a really good dynamic. I would feel weird NOT bringing something back for them! OTOH, I'm not rich (esp after paying the Disney bill!), so these will all help us stay in budget. Thanks!

Things that come in multi-packs (like a 4-pack of hair elastics, dozen-pack of pencils, etc.) will probably divide up to be less than $1 per child if you look hard.

I do like the postcard idea, espcially if you can get a package of assorted postcards so the kids can bring them in to show off what they got.

I don't know what age preschoolers you teach, but if they are old enough for necklace making, this is what I did. I bought two of the bracelets with the "crystal" colored Mickey heads on elastic($4.95 by the registers) I cut them off the elastic and put them on the shelf with plastic lacing cord and cut up colored straws. Each child got to use two of the Mickey head "beads" for their necklace. They had a great time making them and that was there souvenir.

Here's a pic of the bracelets I bought...

That is a GREAT idea - one I will be borrowing.

We have put together a "goodie bag". Purchase the bunch of lollypops, bags of chocolate coins, disney stickers, straws and put them in the small disney bags. I have found that if you ask the CM at the resort gift shop they will give you 20 or so of their small bags and the mickey/minnie stickers. We then separated the lollypops and coins so each child got one lolly, one chocolate coin, a couple stickers and a mickey straw in a small WDW bag.

I second this! We were given extra small bags and stickers as well! :-)
;)

Also the small individual bags of pretzels are rather cheap. Or you can by a big bag or two for them to share for snack when you return. My preschoolers love when I bring back Mickey pretzels from a snack!

I love the idea of little treat bags, we have a birthday to celebrate when we get home, I wonder if I could pick up a few slightly more expensive things to fill the bag for my soon to be 7 year old? Maybe only 6-8 kids.

I LOVE the bracelet idea - and the baggies and stickers and pretzels! I knew this was the right place to get good ideas! Postcards are on my list too - just bought postcard stamps!

I too have to get some small gifts while at disney in May for my DD's preschool class. It will be her birthday the week after we get back and the Preschool graduation as well. I love the ideas here, especially the postcards and goodie bags. THanks all!

OR.. Hit your $ store before you go and grab a few of the really neat Disney items they have. The kids will NEVER know the differece. If you reallly want it to come from WDW, try mickey rice krispy treats ( if you are on the DDP, you may have extra snack credits you can use), a big box of cookies for a class snack, the tiny wash cloths, the giant suckers (these were a huge hit with my preschool class).
Ask for extra bags at the store so each child can have a disney bag that his item comes in. Also also for extra sticker from CM's giving them out and add those in as well.

A $1 will buy you some really neat Disney sticker and stamp sets, princess items, and other cool disney licensed toy items at DollarTree, so don't be afraid to mix in gifts not purchased while on vacation. Truly, no preschooler will know the difference!
