Hello ya'll! I am trying to figure out WHAT and how to put a short cute phrase that sums up our trip for the backs of our t-shirts for our Feb 2008 trip. I think a friend of mine will be able to embroider it (not sure of cost though, it's a new venture for her and she is not really the type to discount too much-she likes her time to be worth it!).
Here's what I am asking: If you look at my siggy, you'll see something about what we are celebrating next year, BUT I don't want it to be just about her, I would like it to be about our family and her little sister too! MY idea is to put "Celebrate Life" on the back of our shirts(most of the ones I have for the trip!). Can you think of a better phrase? I kind'a like it but unsure if there is something better out there!

Also, I am having this put on the back of about 20 shirts, maybe more should my SIL and DB want it too-is there a more frugal and permanent way to do it? No puff paint and not sure if iron on is worth it or any less $$ than embroidery. I am hoping that my friend will do it for $5 per shirt-but I am thinking she may want $5 per word normally. Then it is too expensive for me. That is $200:eek: . Even $100 is steep but I'll do that. Maybe she'll bless me with a better deal since it is so many shirts-we'll see.

Ideas :welcome:

I think you should use the drawing by your daughter and the saying Celebrating Life. I made a pic for you. Not sure how to share it with you.
It says my post are too low. If interested, email me at Collectiblesnd@yahoo.com. Hope you trip is a blast.

I knew I could count on fellow Dis'ers for help with this, but I have found you can go above and beyond! I am so thankful!-Lori

I love the idea of making transfer images of your son's drawing along with the words "Celebrate life." That is a seriously cute watercolor!

If you make it small, you could put 2 or more images on each sheet of transfer paper. If your cost estimates for the embroidery are correct, it will be significantly cheaper than the embroidery costs if you print it on transfer paper and iron it on. (All the packages of dark transfer paper I've seen break down to about $1.50 or less per sheet.)

how well does it stay on-a printed up iron on transfer? I am concerned about that. I know the image can not be embroidered, but screen printed or printed up on a pc. Should I ask some one with a laser printer to print them up or is my inkjet gonna' come out as well?

thanks again-lori
