Looking for a great idea for SIL to tell nieces and nephews about upcoming trip. 2 years ago when they took the older 2 and their cousins went with( SIL sister and DH went too) they did a scavenger hunt. They are looking for something a little different for this trip. They are going at the end of October and a total of 7 kids will be going 10,9,8,7 and a set of 4 year old twins and another 4 year old too. It is the 4 year olds first trip.

Thanks!!!

Well, we're NOT telling my nephew! He is 7 and first went when he was 3, and has been every year since, so 5 times total. Last trip was this past Jan. 2005. We have already planned for Jan. '07, when he's 9. But it was KILLING me for him to miss a year and not go when he was 8, thus breaking the cycle. (Can you tell I don't have kids of my own? :rotfl: )

So my sister and I are taking him for Spring Break in April '06. He's always known about every trip and drives his mom/my sister nuts about when we're going. Since he doesn't know about this trip, we've decided not to tell him. They live in Atlanta and I'm in Savannah. So she's going to act like they're coming to Sav. for Spring Break, which they often do. Then the next day we're getting up and heading to Disney, but not telling him. We're going to act like we're going to the outlet mall (about an hour away) shopping or something. When he finally starts to question why it's taking so long, we'll see if he figures it out on his own when he hit the Florida line, about 2 hours from here.

My sister is thrilled she won't have to hear "how many more days" constantly. Even with countdown chains, calendars, etc., he still drives her nuts. I'm the one I'm worried will have trouble keeping the secret!

Good luck!

Are they going to MNSSHP? If so, perhaps some costumes or Halloween gear. When you give it to them, ask them where and when they'd like to wear/use it before Halloween. Suggest MNSSHP... go with the conversation. As they figure it out, they'll become more excited.

How about a postcard from Mickey inviting them for a visit....have the card arrive a few days before departure day....and when it comes say "What the heck. Let's go!!" Have some travel gifts on hand.

Of course there's always the "Get in the car....we have an errand to run" game. Mine don't like that one too well.

Have fun!
