Need ideas for last day

We are going to Sea World and the Zoo in SD.

Our Last day is a Wed. Our flight leaves from Orange County at 5:30.

What can we do in SD that day before we drive up to the airport. It also could be something that is on the way.

We are open to any suggestions. We will be staying at the Best Western on Shelter Island.

I thought we might go to the zoo that day, and then we would have a whole day to do something else, but I don't want to be rushed at the zoo.

It might be animal overload...but the Safari Park (the zoo's sister facility) is on the way to Orange County from SD (about 45 min. north of SD) and doesn't take as much time as the zoo. There is a discount if you buy multi-day admission to both the zoo and the Safari Park.

When are you traveling? There is a 2-3 hour boat tour of the harbor available in San Diego. Between Dec. and April they do whale-watching but I'm assuming you're going fairly soon. Coronado is also a good place to spend an afternoon.

I already bought City Pass with the Zoo option.

What is there to do at Coronado? Do you take a boat there, or drive? I think that I read somewhere it is an island. Is that right? Sounds interesting.

It's an island... Kind of you can drive there via two routes, but most take the bridge. They also have a ferry from downtown to Coronado for those that don't have a car (or don't want to use one). Coronado is a good family beach and also has a lot of cute eateries and shops.

Great! We have 2 teenage girls who like cute eateries and of course shopping!
