need ideas for group teacher gift

Help! I need ideas for a sentimental group gift for DD's beloved 2nd grade teacher. I planned to have the kids make a class book with each child having their own page and a photo but DD came home today and said her teacher was making something similar!

I just want her to have something to remember the class by!

Does the teacher have pillows (like in a reading area?) in the classroom? I had a class mom make me a decorative pillow once (it was for home, but I think I'd use a big floor pillow for the classroom more) and have all the kids sign it. If you have access to the kids, they could do paint handprints.

I really like gifts that can be kept in the classroom because it's fun for the kids to come back to visit and see you using it.

I did something like that for my DD kindergarten/1st grade teacher. Yes, she was lucky enough to have her kindergarten teacher as her 1st grade teacher also. What I did was had each child fill out a "Teacher Report Card" and I had pictures of the children ( cause I'm camera happy at her class ). I put them together in a scrap book and had the children give it to her.

Since that idea may be out the window so to say. You could probably do a collague (sp?) I see a window box frame as you would put a Pin collection in. Take pictures of the children and have a few things in it that would represent the teachers personality. Find out if she likes animals ect. Or you could use trinkets from the fields trips or special events you had during the school year.

If I think of anything else I post it.

I just got another idea. I saw a lady in Eckerds the other day and she was getting a calendar she had made. NOw you can probably find another place to do this or if you're crafty enough do it yourself. Make a calendar and have several kids pictures on each month and maybe a little message by some of the kids as well. She can use it next school year if you lay it out for the year or do a 18 month calendar. Just an idea
