Need ideas for Arrival Day. What do you do?

We have AP's but this trip we are bringing my DH's mother and she will have a park hopper. She is going to be such fun, she has never been anywhere else but her hometown. Anyway, we also don't want to waste one of her hopper day's.

So, I plan on making dinner reservations at Boma's at Animal Kingdom lodge. After dinner we can view the animals and tour the lodge. Animal Kingdom Lodge is so beautiful. After that head back and make it an early night. My mother-in-law is 80 but she will probably be outdoing us!

We will be on PHP"s too but I plan on leaving as early in the morning as possible to arrive about 8 am - check in and since I will have our bathing suits in my carry on we are heading straight for TL!! I can't wait to snorkel with those sharks again. LOL- After that we will go to dinner and then pass out early for a park day the next day! I just WISH it was tomorrow and not next year.

We plan on checking out our hotel, resting for a bit, then off to dinner and Downtown Disney for our first night. Early to bed for the full day tomorrow. Paulette

Anyone know if you can see the MK fireworks from the Polynesian? We plan to have our first night dinner at O'Hana's and would love to see the fireworks but dont want to waste the park pass.

Hi Renda460,
Yes, you can! In fact this is our number one favorite thing to do the night before we go to MK. The music for the fireworks is piped in to O'Hanas AND you can see and hear the water parade AND the castle changing colors (kissing you goodnight). Ask for a window seat when you makeyour PS. If you can't wait until that late to eat and see it all from O'Hanas you can see it from the beach at the Poly. It will put a little Disney magic into your first night there!
My only problem is that after I see that I am so excited for the morning I can hardly sleep!-LOL

Have a WONDERFUL trip!

We're coming in the night before at the Hyatt so we can get a head start.
1. Stop at the grocery store
2. Check-in and have breakfast at the Concierge Lounge.
3. Mini-golf at either Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens.
4. Back to the GF to rent SeaRaycers.
5. Snack in the Lounge
6. Pool time
7. Dinner - have not decided yet
8. Hook up with some friends that live in the Orlando area and do some shopping at the outlets.
We never do the parks the first day, even when we arrive very early.
WDW offers so many other options beside the parks. But then the rest of our stay we are in the parks morning to night. With a nice pool break in the middle of the day.
