I am trying to think of some 'disney' things to do that do not require using a day on our PHPs. I'd like to hit the parks for 2 straight days, take a 'leisure' day, then do 2 more park days before heading home.
So far, I've come up with:
Chef Mickey's, then watching fireworks from Contemporary
Downtown Disney (taking boat from our resort - POR)
Petting Zoo, movie, campfire at Fort Wilderness.

Any other ideas? Most of the things I can think of are late evening/night activities. Any morning or mid-day things we can do?

Just enjoying the Resort you will be at, most have special activites during the morning and afternoon. (Pool is also an option)

How about mini golf or renting a mouse boat or pontoon boat?

We're having a "Beach Day' at the Swan pool area then we'll hit the Boardwalk, ending the night at JellyRolls.

All the previous ideas are great!! We have also taken a day to visit resorts we have not yet stayed at, for instance, we took the boat to WL and looked around, ate at Whispering Canyon for lunch!!:wave2:

Do Disney Quest at DTD or fish at the fishing hole at POR. Rent bikes (that not too expensive) and ride the paths between POR and POFQ, its beautiful.

There's lots of thngs to do.

** Confession: This note is also a shameless excuse to look at my counter ** ;)

Have a good time!! Your counter looks so much better than mine!

there are fishing excursions, golf outings(real & mini), ride in the front of the monorail and receive an honorary monorail captains liscense, illuminations cruise, take an hour and go to the real florida beaches(dd greatest thrill ever was seeing the ocean for the first time), or just relax at the resort pool...also, there are several great outlet malls just off disney property if you're into shopping...

We often spend park "down time" at the Boardwalk. The kids love it and so do we.

I like the idea of visiting other resorts. WHat about a movie in DTD? And then you could explore DTD- there's so much to do there. Dare I even mention City Walk at US? You could rent a Surrey bike on the boardwalk and tour around the promonade. How about tea at the GF? You caold have a spa day! Where are you staying- that could help with suggestions.

Here's how I would spend a non-park day: waterpark until early afternoon and then relaxing around the resort for a bit before we eat dinner at 'Ohana and fireworks from beach at Poly. Or if you don't want to use a Plus for that day....go shopping at DTD during the day and then the dinner/fireworks. -HM

from the contemporary you can take a boat to Fort Wilderness where there is a hiking trail, petting zoo, horseback riding ( made need advance ressies for this, we have done it with and without but that was in Jan or Dec)... a nice break as it is so different from the park atmosphere. if Chef Mickey's is for dinner you can try Trail's End for lunch or breakfast ( $10 each)

also the free tours of AKL and I think WL offers this also, don't have to stay there to take them.

Whatever you decide to do, you are really smart to schedule this "downtime" day. It makes a world of difference.
