need ideas for 10 year old niece

We have a grand-niece who is turning 10. When her older sister turned 10 we happened to be going to New York on a business trip for my husband so we took her along and went to American Girl etc.- 4 day trip. Now the little sister is turning 10 and we aren't going on a trip but want to get her something unique or special. Any ideas? I could do the Am Girl 2010 doll I guess but am interested in any other unique ideas. Since this 10 year old has 2 older siblings, I know she tries to act older than she is. Or she wants older stuff. Thanks for ideas.

If she doesn't already have one, get her an ipod. My dd was 10 when she got her & she LOVES it!

Dinner and a movie or play or sporting event (depending on her tastes)
Lunch and getting nails done
Some kind of class together if that is practical (pottery etc...)

My 11 year old loves her I-pod as well -or if you want to splash out -I-pad

Gift cards -you could give them in some kind of amusing way -hanging from a potted plant- taped into a book
