I need to get moving on getting our holiday cards, but I am stumped. I want to do something unique, something fun, something out of the ordinary. What to do. I don't want to do the picture of the four of us in front of the fireplace, or the tree or the front step or our feet....do any of you extra creative people have any ideas? Thanks In Advance!!!

Does it need to be a photo?

Look at the "standup" card on the last page of the card counters thread (on the scrapbook board).

You could take your photo in one of the traditional poses and print them wallet size. Paste the photo on the back fold and cut outs of something(s) related to the photo on the folds in front of it, with your greeting on the tall stand up fold, as I have it.

For example, if you're in front of the tree in the photo then put a few gift cutouts on the folds in front. or ornaments. snow scene = snow flakes either punched or stamped and punched with a circle punch. A disney photo - mickey punches in different colors.

Or put a tree on the tall stand up and your greeting in strips on the shorter folds in front of the photo.

I see you have two little princesses. How about a royal family picture with your DH as a King, you as the Queen, and the girls as princesses?

Would my husband go for it? doubt it, maybe when DD was littlier he would.

Do you have a farm or vegetable stand near by?

I'm taking the kids to a local veggie stand to take photos on a tractor.

How about a sleigh? Know anyone with one of those?

Our first family Christmas card was us in our jammies in bed. DS was 5 months and screaming his head off, while DH and I pretended to sleep. Inside we wrote, "All Momma and Daddy want for Christmas is a Silent Night." It got rave reviews.

I have four princesses. Last year we had them each wear a football jersey then went out after it had snowed and had them make "mean" faces and pose with the football. It was great! The card read the typical greeting with love the connor boys at the end. Everyone loved it. By luck it had just snowed, if it hadn't we would have still done the same.

:rotfl: I love it.

How about re-creating scenes from the movie "A christmas story." Have one of the girls stand in front of a pole like their tongue is stuck to it and have the other girls watching her awestruck" Then have the card say something like "We Triple Dog Dare you to have a great Christmas."

I think I might have to use this idea for my family too!

Great Ideas! Thanks everyone...I love them. I'm going to use one of them...not sure which one yet, I like them all!
