We've stayed at a few that I'd not care to return to.

Looking for a Sept 09 trip for 3 days 2 adults. Just need clean and somewhat close or a shuttle, nothing fancy necessary. Breakfast would be nice but not a deal breaker.

TIA for your replies.

I got a fantastic deal on HoJo, which is apparently right across the street from the gates...I have never been there but have heard rave reviews on this board. If you have the "entertainment book" (which i bought just for this purpose) you can get a room for select dates for $59/night!

I've stayed at BW Park Vue and the Fairfield.
I loved the beds at Fairfield and the BW had a microwave and mini fridge which we really needed. Both clean, no funky smells.
The Fairfield is right behind MD's which was nice in the AM. The BW was right there at the crosswalk to the gates.

HoJo has a big following on these boards. They are actually one block up from the crosswalk, but still just a 7 minute walk from the gate. If you can get the Entertainment book rate (see http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14) then it's really the nicest hotel for the best deal on Harbor, within easy walking distance. They have super comfy beds, inside corridors, and a great new water play area for kids next to the hot tub, in addition to the big pool near the back of the property.

We stayed in one of the Disney view rooms, seventh floor of building one, at the Ent rate of $79 a night. There's pics from my trip report, linked in my signature below, on page 5.

Hope that helps!

Anyone stay at the Anaheim Plaza hotel? They got decent reviews on tripadvisor and the rate is excellent. How far is it down the street?

We were going to book at the Tropicana because it had a good rate and looks like it is right across the street from the entrance but it's full now.

BWPPI, Tropicanna, Camelot are the closest with consistently good reviews, they tend to be around the same price. A little further away (10 minute walk) are Hojos and Candy Cane Inn, both have very loyal followings, they are just over half a mile away from the gate so walk time will depend on walking speed. Also very popular but with a few more "mixed reviews" are Anaheim Plaza, Park Vue and Carousel, they tend to be a little cheaper too. By far the best "value " is Hojos but only if you can get the Entertainment rates. At the end of the day I don't think you would have a bad stay at any of these hotels....

We stayed at Tropicana last June for 3 nights. Great rate, right across the street, places to eat nearby. Breakfast was fruit, donuts juice, cereal. Pool in the middle of the complex.
There were 4 of us in a room with two queens- A adults and 2 teenage girls. It was what we needed. Beds, a fridge and a place to park. It was close enough that we even let the girls walk back by themselves a time or two during the day and early evening.

My family just stayed at The Candy Cane Inn and I highly recommend it!
It was a lot nicer than I thought it would be...think holiday inn express but a little smaller and more cottage like.

What did you think about the size of the rooms at the Candy Cane Inn? We are looking at the Deluxe rooms but there are 5 of us (2 adults & 3 kids ages 9, 6 & 2) which would be in both beds and a roll away. My question is is there room for a roll away in the rooms? Thanks for your help!

:cheer2:

Friends stayed there and we saw their room, they had a standard room and it was very small, you could have fitted a rollaway but there would have been little floorspace left. We were shown a delux room after they complained but there is not a lot of difference... Hojos has some quite big rooms as did the Carousel when we stayed there
