we are planning on a nov30th to dec 5th or 6th at disney and then a week in other places in tampa and orlando. we are trying to decide what hotel to stay at. I thought the swan and dolphin would be ok but i cant seem to find if they have any good rates for that time and they are booked for the 4th or 5th i think it is. we thought about the beach club or the boardwalk but at 289 a night its a bit pricey for us on a budget and wanting to go see other things and not just WDW. thought about the all stars or pop century but they seem so far away from everything and seem like nothing more then a glorified diseny fied motel 6 with huge disney icons outside. we want to be close to things so we dont have to take a bus everywhere that is the idea behind staying on the boardwalk area. any ideas or suggestions. thanks

Did you look into a moderate. Unless you stay at a monorail resort, you will need to take a boat or a bus to any of the parks, attractions or rent a car.

I have never stayed at Pop or an AS, but I have heard people say that the bus transportation isn't bad. Maybe someone else can reassure you about this & tell you what the rooms/resort is like.

The deluxes are the most convenient for transportation to the parks. Have you looked into rates at the WL or AKL?

Good luck.

wl and AKL are to far away from everything and not really a theme id like. the boardwalk resorts were what were looking good because of the boat or walking to epcot and MGM. and then we could also go down on the boardwalk at night and then when we are done walk back to our rooms. the only reason for staying at AS or pop century is they are cheaper but they are not as nice of resorts but i guess its all give and take. i just really have my heart set on the boardwalk resorts maybe a good deal at beach club or the boardwalk will come about later on as discounts are posted for those times that we are going.

I am also looking for swan/dolphin discounts during that time. For Nov 26-28 I was able to get a AAA rate of $149 ( I think?) for a standard room, but haven't booked it, as I'm really interested in Dec 2-4th. They open up new discounts every once and awhile, so I'm waiting patiently over here:p

Also, WL is right near the magic kingdom.:earsboy:

Have you thought about renting points from a DVC member and staying at the BC villas or Boardwalk villas in a studio? Head over to the rent/trade board and check it out.

If the OP is talking about this Nov or Dec, they are a bit late to be renting points. They might be able to get someone else's reservation that they can't use, but I bet for the most part, the resorts are pretty much booked up by now.
