Need Hollywood Studios restaurant help!

Hi,

Trying to decide b/t Mama Melrose (no Fantasmic package), Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time for dinner in late September. Will be 3 adults and 3 kids (ages 5-8) and all but one adult on basic dining plan. Looked at the menus and think we could find something we like at all 3. More concerned about the food than about the atmosphere. Which restaurant do you recommend and why?

We loved Sci-Fi in September (the onion rings were to die for; DH had the reuben and said it was as good if not better than the one he always has at The Plaza at the MK and I had a burger--huge and very good); we have always had good meals at Mama Melrose and good service (although even with ADR's it can be a wait to get in more so than some of the other places we've dined); we've not eaten at the Prime Time in over ten years--we outgrew the antics.

My first pick for your group would be Sci Fi, followed by Mama Melrose.

If you're more concerned about the food, I'd go Mama Melrose then 50s Prime Time. Sci-fi is fine when a burger or turkey sandwich would hit the spot or you really want to relish in the old sci-fi trailers and cartoons.

Another vote for Sci-fi Diner. It's such a unique experience you have to do it at least once.

Have you considered taking a short walk or boat ride to Cape May Cafe Clambake?...It's not far from the entrance to DHS, and it's a buffet, so lots of choices for everyone....I also think that you will have more of a chance to relax and enjoy eachother's company, as they don't turn tables as quickly as the few park spots.

That said, I love Sci Fi, but the table set up is not ideal for large groups. Mama Melrose I've done 2x, and never will again unless DYING for Fantasmic access.
