I purchased Wicked and Mama Mia tix for DD and I. I need a creative way to give these to her for Christmas?

Thanks

I bought Wicked tickets for my DD last year. I purchased the book and used the tickets as a bookmark!

How old is your DD? I guess the book is a little dark.

Great Present! I would purchase the CDs for both, it will be cheaper then buying them at the show anyway and put the tickets inside the cases. You can also make a gift back up with the brochures for the shows and CDs. Disposable camera, NYC trinket( taxi, snowglobe,..etc) and Playbill even sells holders to keep your Playbills together if you collect them.

What an awesome gift! Last year a freind got her daugther tickets to a few broadway shows and ticketed them as such:

Mama Mia-got her a copy of the movie soundtracked. placed both items in a box and wrapped it. daugther thought she had gotten a cd for christmas and was suprised by the envelope. I plan to do this with Taylor Swift tickets that i got this eyar for DD.

You could give her a package with a few things that hint to the show. For instance for Wicked i would give her a witches hat and a magic wand. have her try to guess what it means and then give her the tickets in an evelope.

Or perhaps put the tickets in a copy of the book and have them be a bookmark?

If i think of anything else will let you know.

You could wrap the tickets in as small of a box that will fit. Then put that box in a slightly larger wrapped box, then into a larger one, and so on.... If you can work your way up to a giant TV sized box, that would be funny. You could also put some thing heavy in a couple of the boxes, like canned vegetables to throw her off with the weight.

This isn't related to the plays themselves, but thought I'd pass it along.

One year each of us kids got this rectangular package -- about 12x6, 1" thick. And when you shook it, you heard this vague rattling, with a kind of crackly squeaky sound. We could NOT figure out what it was. The speculation flew like mad for weeks! When we opened it, we found out it was a box of chocolate turtles (squeaking sound was the little plastic tray holder moving back and forth). But what dad had done was to cut a slit in the clear cellophane surrounding the box and slipped cash underneath. Big success and total surprise :thumbsup2 That would certainly work for tickets.

you can also tie a helium balloon to the tickets and tuck the tix in a small box still attached to the balloon. When the box is opened the tix will "float" out.

We saw Wicked about a month ago-it was AMAZING!!! :goodvibes

I am taking my niece to see Cirque's "Banana Shpeel" in Chicago the week after Christmas as her gift. I've decided to pre-make a scrapbook for her with space to put pics later. I'll make a color copy of the tickets and put those on the first page. We will be spending the night at the Hard Rock hotel and then shopping, ice skating, etc. the next day. I figure I can make pages for all that as well. Once I have the scrapbook ready, I plan to wrap it in progressively larger boxes so that she thinks she's getting a huge present, but after unwrapping about 10 boxes she'll find the scrapbook :)

When I gave my dd tickets to Wicked, I put them inside this book...
http://www.amazon.com/Wicked-Grimme...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258998716&sr=8-1
But she had already seen the show once, so I am not sure if this might spoil something.
Not sure of your dd's age, but the book Wicked is not for a younger girl or young teen, it's very adult.

I think the soundtracks are a great idea! What a wonderful gift, my dd loves getting show tickets and these are two great shows!

I love this idea! The tickets will "Defy Gravity"!

Wicked is my favorite show and my 1st to see on Broadway several years ago.

Hey, don't I recognize you? I'm pretty sure you're my long lost auntie and I'm that niece you've always wished for, but never knew you had...

BTW - I'm free all that week... :rolleyes1

LOVE the balloon idea!

Last year (actually, probably the year before) I gave my mom Celine Dion tix and put them inside a Vera Bradley wallet type thing. She opened the wallet and I could tell she was like "eh", but when I told her to check the pockets, she found the tix and cried. She used the wallet to take to the concert with her even though she didn't really dig it. :thumbsup2

What a great way to give "Wicked" tickets -- the card should say "Let's Defy Gravity". And use a green balloon.

We put Wicked tix, along with the train tickets, in an AG doll's suitcase to surprise her last year when I took the girls to NYC for DD8's bday. She'd been complaining every summer that her doll needed a suitcase to take to wdw too, so when I found the Amer Girl suitcase it was too perfect.

Next trip, I'm going to put DD20 ticket inside this http://www.wickedthemusicalstore.com/Products/Wicked-Green-Water-Bottle__843019009264.aspx

and have Chistery's arms holding DD8's ticket http://www.wickedthemusicalstore.com/Products/Chistery-Plush-Monkey__843019002821.aspx

I love the balloon idea too - I wonder if I could find a big enough ballon to make Chistery fly...:thumbsup2
