we have a trip planned for 5 nights at the polynesian starting feb. 22 i have never stayed at the poly. and need help deciding on which building to stay in. i would like to be close to the monorail but not so close that it is noisy or we dont have a nice view. also i have a 3 year old that would enjoy the pool so something near the pool would be nice. we are doing a garden view but no concerige. i would like to have a nice view of a garden area/pool area if there is something nice in that area. since this is our first trip to the poly. i would like it to be a memorable one with lots of beauty and enjoyment. also could anyone tell me if the pool will be open during this time. i figure it would be warm enough by then to be open but not sure if they will have it open. thanks for the help. :D :bounce:

no Poly expert here. but my DH and I stayed at Poly in October for our honeymoon. We statyed at Tokelau, which is very close to the quiet pool (the one without the volcano.) It is about 5 min walking to the Great Ceremonial House. tokelau is also close to the ticket and transportation centre. So I guess this building is kinda central to anything.

Hopefully someone else will give you more feedback on that.

Both pools are heated and open year round. I agree that Tokelau would be a nice choice for you.

While Steve's website will tell you EvErYthInG you need to know, I will give you my opinion... while I'm not an expert and don't know a lot about each longhouse, my mom and I stayed in Tokelau garden view in November and the longhouse was great! I think our room was #1913. The rooms are slightly larger in that longhouse and there is a good chance of getting a partial lagoon view... we could see the Contemporary and TTC boat from our 1st floor balcony... a few steps out, the Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom could be viewed, it was fabulous and only a few steps from the quiet pool. The walk to the GCH and volcano pool is only about 5 mins. or less... have fun and check out Tikiman's website!

thanks guys for the help, i just made a request for the tokelau at the poly. after reading your post and visiting tikimans site it seemed pretty nice. since it is my daughters first time going do you have any suggestions or any ideas on to request for making her trip a little more special? i have already planned a character dinner but was wondering if there was anything the hotel does. i know she cant do the neverland thing because she is only 3 and it says you have to be 4. any other ideas?
