We are hoping to see the Space Shuttle launch on Oct. 8, currently scheduled for 1:34 A.M. We are considering a tour which picks up at Swan. Our pickup would be at 5:00 P.M. on Oct. 7 and we wouldn't be back until some time on Oct. 8. We will be staying at SSR on those dates but were thinking of valet parking at BWV and walking to/from Swan. Will we have a problem leaving our car in valet for that long when we aren't BWV guests?

You shouldn't have any trouble, providing you aren't checking out of SSR for that night. You will probably have to pay the valet fee for the day, unless you are lucky--try showing them your room key with "DVC member" on the card, and they might not charge you. But did you know that the Swan has valet services, too? You could go straight to their resort, and forget about walking to them. I don't know what they charge, though.

If she gets charged, she should be able to get the SSR fron desk to remove the charge.

Thanks for the info. My planning is turning out to be pretty lousy. Our plane doesn't arrive until noon on Oct. 7 so I am praying that we can get an early check-in at SSR. I should have anticipated that the launch could be early morning. I was trying to leave as many days as possible of our trip AFTER the scheduled launch in case there is a delay. We were originally booked for the BWV but the launch date was moved up and BWV had no rooms, so we booked SSR. We aren't checking into BWV until Oct. 11.
