Need help with transfer paper info

Help!! I am so confused! lol I am going to print the black Mickey head with the tiarra and put it on a white tshirt. I plan on cutting around the Mickey head. Do I use DARK transfer paper? Or Light?!? Oy, I just don't get it.

If you are going to put it on a white tshirt, you can use light transfer paper.
