Make sure you get a room with a pool view, or marina view, if not you will be looking at the back side facing the parking lot

Great resort, your kids will love the pool, and it is peaceful at the poly, your away from the hussle and bussle of things. The only thing I did not like was the snack place captain cooks, the food was not good, and pepole working in there are not that friendly, the other 2 restrauts in there are great! If your planning on the Lual, you need to book now, I did not get in, they say the food is great, and it is alot of fun. people book a year in advance for it.

You may contact the concierge by phone and arrange planning if you like.

One of the things I've done and heard many times is the their concierge is highly successful at getting reservations at Cinderella's Royal table and other hard to get in places. Maybe you can use them to book Chef mickeys at the perfect time or someplace you want to hit.

I highly recommend the children's club "Neverland Club" (no affiliation with Michael Jackson, I promise you!) Our kids, 7 and 5 love the place and beg to go back when we visit. It might be "too young" for the 9 year old, but if he has a gameboy or doesn't mind playing the in house video games he'll be fine.

Use the boat off the dock at the Polynesian to get to MK. It's highly underated as a quick means of travel.

If you are lagoon view, the second floor does not offer a balcony. 1st level gives you the most flexibility for viewing the fireworks. 3rd floor can be excellent, but it's my favorite because of the privacy as the kids are usually ready for bed for late fireworks shows. We can see them from the balcony and have the kids in bed right after they finish, it's very convenient.

Here is the latest link I have for a stay at the Polynesian. Please read up on the room views, it may help.

OP - You'll have a lovely time staying Poly. concierge. You'll be staying in the Hawaii longhouse (unless you booked a suite) and there are no "parking lot" views. We (DH, DS7,DD7, and I) stayed on the 3rd floor, garden view, non-smoking and enjoyed it very much.

Tikiman's site is very helpful, as are the concierge staff, who typically contact you about 4-5 months before your arrival to offer assistance with dining and show reservations.

If you have any specific questions, post away.:wizard:

heavytow1 ~ You could not have picked a better place to stay. We'll be there in October and we can't wait.

One poster mentioned Captain Cook's snack bar. They are supposed to be renovating/remodeling Captain Cook's this fall and it will be all new by the time you're there. However, if you're staying concierge I doubt you'll be visiting Captain Cook's very often. The concierge lounge is great for breakfast (unless you need a "hot" breakfast), snacks, etc.

While Tikiman's site is the absolute best for POLY info, since it is down right now I would suggest checking out AllEarsNet. Here are some links.

For concierge facts, including the food offerings:

And for some concierge reviews:

(I actually have a review posted!)

Hope this helps in your planning and hope you'll have a great time!!
