well once the parks are closed, and i persume its around 8pm, we are going 14th march, my ??'s are
what time are the parades, my kids are normally in bed at 7pm, so i know they will need feeding at around 5.30, hopefully the parades don't start that early
are there firework displays when we go, i have read there is a st paddy's day one, but can we expect fireworks on the other days?

what is there to do once we get back to the hotel cheyenne, hoping there is some entertainment on, but then again the kids will be asleep, so dh will have to do that on his own

i haven't given a thought to what we will do once we are back at the hotel, is there a tv in the room?
thanks jane

Jane, we are in a similar boat since even in the summer troops do better if we stick to bed-time routine.

There is normally a live band/music in the evening, but I didn't enjoy it much on my own.
Therefore a walk to the Esso garage to stock up on munchies and a bottle of wine meant we had a relaxing evening once the kids went to bed :goodvibes

The Wonderful World of Disney parade is at 4.00pm everyday. The Disneyland park closes at 8.00pm and the Studios Park at 6.00pm. There won't be any fireworks apart from the St. Patrick's Day ones and unfortunately the Fantillusion night-time parade isn't on either (I'm gutted we saw it in March 2004 and it's spectacular).
There is a TV in the room but from what I can remember there's not much choice of channels.
The Disney Village stays open until late and you have the Red Garter Saloon close by, but as you say the kids will be tucked up in bed . I'm not sure if the Cheyenne offers a babysitting service.

We have stayed in the park until closing time, but be warned there is a major scrum for the shuttle buses and with 3 little ones to get onto the bus I'd recommend you leave a little before closing. I'm not kidding the shuttle buses are horrendous at this time, my husband had to lift a little boy over the heads of other passengers to pass him back to his dad. He'd been playing with my little one at the bus stop got on the bus with us whilst mum and dad were dealing with a baby and buggy and everyone just pushed in front of them, nobody would move.
Last time we wandered through the Disney Village for an hour or so and had a drink in the bars before going back to the hotel - my kids are older than yours, but usually as soon as we get back to the hotel everyone collapses into bed.

There are TV's in the rooms - when we were in the Explorers the channels were limited (one English speaking childrens cartoon channel and a couple of BBC channels) in some of the disney hotels they have the Disney Channel and also nightime stories on the TV - but I am not sure which ones this applies to.

My children are 4 and 8 - we will take several magnetic travel games, pens and paper and the trusty gameboys - so they can unwind in the evening without driving Mum and Dad stir crazy (they will also have a long soak in the bath to get rid of the last of the energy). We will also take eye covers so that we can at least read (and munch on snacks) while they are sleeping.

You will probably find that the children will be buzzing from the parks and so the normal bedtime goes out the window - so you might manage some early evening entertainment together in the hotel or at Disney Village. That way by the time you get back to your hotel room you will ALL be tuckered out and ready for ZZZZZ

The characters often appear in the hotels in the evenings.

Regarding the TV.... every Disney Hotel has the same channels.

They include....

3 DLRP channels (in different languages) - showing what there is to do in the resort during your visit.

A few french channels.

3 Disney Channels (in French, English and German).

Eurosport

BBC WORLD

and some more random channels in various languages.

We took a portable DVD player and some Disney DVD's (had to keep up with the theming ;) ) for DD and a couple of others for us for when DD dropped off Ours were never on we watched one with DD each night and all promptly fell asleep. :goodvibes
