My nephew will be turning 5 in Disney. He has never been so I was hoping that he could have a special birthday. He loves what he calls "chop chop" places. Here's my question. I know that if I put in the ps that it is his birthday they might not do anything. I was just wondering if anyone has had them do anything for their birthday or anniversary there. If so what? Just to repeat. I know I should not except it. I just thought it would be nice. TIA

I believe you can order a birthday cake to have at the restaurant. I was informed to call the restaurant directly 2 days prior to your dinner. That was at LeCellier but I believe that is the procedure for all WDW restaurants. I made the mistake of calling too late so they couldn't do the cake. I thought they would just have them on hand like many restaurants but you have to special order them. The chef did print Happy Birthday in chocolate on a plate plus they gave her a birthday card signed by all the characters. I don't know if they always do that but the card was a hit. Also make sure you get a birthday pin at Guest Services. My DD wore hers and she loved the attention she got from many of the Cast Members. Have fun!

If you get a good chef, I'm sure they have some kind of birthday act or something

I've had my birthday there a few times and the most recent time I was given a really good piece of cake after the other families left the table. AKL concierge had made the reservations, but I don't know if that had anything to do with it as it was a split stay and we had moved to the Vacation Club (OKW to those who don't remember the name change). This was in 2004, and it was my 23rd birthday. I don't know if they do things differently now or for younger birthdays. I forgot to get a pin and we had come in through the World Showcase enterance. Can you even get a pin at the back enterance to EPCOT without walking to the front?

Yes I got an Epcot pin there in 2004

My husband requested that we celebrate his 40th birthday at Teppanyaki...I'm hoping they do something for him...a little embarrassment is always good!

(BTW, we call Japanese restaurants "chop chop" places too...funny!!!)

Thanks for telling me. The next time I'm there on my birthday I'll have to get a pin. Too bad I didn't know about those pins when I was in high school, my birthday always fell during my spring break and I was at WDW for it a lot. Not once did a CM mention the birthday pin to me. Now I know and will get one the next time I'm there for my birthday.
