As a Solo Traveler, is this “Plan” something I can logistically & realistically do? Perhaps a Commando can tell me if I can do all of these things. (This is NOT my first trip, but this is my first Holiday and Solo trip - and my first flight to WDW! )

Please give me your suggestions and ideas!

My hotel: Pop Century
Flying Southwest Airlines
Arriving Sun. 11/28/10 - Flight arriving Midday (1 p.m.)
Departing Wed. 12/1/10 - Flight departing Early Evening (7:30 p.m.)
Free Quick Service Dining - Paying for upgrade to Dining Package
(1 TS, 1 CS, 1 Snack per day)
4 day Park Passes

Want to do:

MVMCP - either 11/28 or 11/30 - at night
KTTK Tour - any morning
View Monorail resorts Holiday Displays - should I do this at night?
View Osborne lights at HS & watch fireworks - at night
Eat at Sci Fi (1TS)
Eat at Trails End (1TS) and somehow (rent golf cart or bike?) view site decorations - at night
Eat at Yachtsman Steakhouse (2TS) - only open for dinner
Eat at Earl of Sandwich at DD (1CS)
Use Planet Hollywood $15 Certificate (part of my package freebie's)

Using Magical Express bus to airport on my last day, I don't know where to catch bus? If I check out at 11 a.m., but flight is in the evening, where do I store my luggage?

Thanks! ;)

I can answer part of this. For your check-out, you can take your luggage to the Airline check-in desk and they will take care of that part. If you have carry-on luggage that you don't want to carry around all day with you, you can leave it with Bell Services at the entrance to the resort. They will tell you to be there at least 15 minutes prior to catching your bus to the airport so they can get anything you've checked in. As for the DME bus, it should pick you up out in front of your resort.

Looking at the rest of what you want to do, I don't see why you couldn't fit it all in, but I couldn't swear to it.

I was hoping I could leave my luggage at the Pop Front Desk (where they pick up DME), take my carryon luggage with me - just carry it around all day. Then possibly catch DME "wherever I end up" that evening. :confused3

For example, if I'm at MK that day, then I could just catch the DME at the Contemporary.

I was hoping not to have to catch busses to GO BACK to Pop at the end of my day to catch DME, but that is just wishful thinking..... That's why I'm asking questions... I don't really know what I can and cannot do....

thanks for the input! :thumbsup2

You will need to return to Pop Century to catch DME. Be ready--with your luggage--15 minutes before your pick-up time. You can check all of your bags--including carry-on--with Luggage Services.

You can enjoy the resort decorations during the day. If you take a break from MK or EPCOT (or DHS), it's a good time to tour the related resorts.

Osbourne Lights definitely at night. They usually have an "official switch" time posted at DHS when the lights are officially turned on at night. It's fun to watch, but not essential. Sometimes it's easier to wait a bit than be caught in that crowd!

At one time, you could view Osbourne Lights when leaving Fantasmic!, but that was not permitted in 2007. Not sure if that has changed since then. But they were showing Fantasmic! as the finale once a night only, so if you were to attend the first showing of Fantasmic!, you theoretically could tour Osbourne Lights afterwards.

Everything on your list looks possible. Have you made your ADRs yet? You will need those for the TS meals. I'm not sure how quickly the MVMCP tickets might sell out for your potential dates--we had to adjust ours in 2007, as we didn't want to purchase tickets in advance of our arrival.

Hope you have a wonderful, magical solo WDW visit! :)

Regarding DME, your bus time will have to be about 3 hours prior to your flight. I find this to be excessive and sad because it takes away from park time! Just keep that in mind if you didn't know it already.

Exactly why I want to last flight home! You can never have too much time at Disney!!!:goodvibes

I can answer your questions regarding Fort Wilderness. The golf cart rentals are for 24 hours only and are about $63/day. You are able to rent bikes for an hour or two at a time at the bike barn near the Meadows Trading Post. I'm not sure when the bike barn closes (I haven't rented anything from there in forever) but you can call (407) 824-2742 and ask that and how much the rental cost is. They also have wagon rides at night that goes by some of the loops (and I think through a couple loops) so you can see some decorations that way. Hope this helps.
