This is so exciting for us! We got the $99 rate at DLH for one night in mid-August.

I'm hoping your veterans can help with the following:

1. Room suggestions---which tower/near the Neverland pool.
2. Room layout---is it two doubles and a pull-out sleep chair?
3. Anyone have photos I could download of the Neverland pool.
4. What is the Cove Beach---never heard of it!!

Thanks a lot! We are passholders, but always cheap out on hotels or stay with relatives!

Patti

Good for you--great rate!

I can only answer a few of your questions:

I would recommend the Sierra Tower--you will be right in between the Neverland Pool and DTD.

We had a DTD view and could also see DCA. Try to get a higher floor.

The rooms is quite spacious--2 Queens, and a daybed. Real nice bathroom layout as well.

Have fun!

Beware - some rooms are not that big. We had a room in the Sierra Tower, 7th floor facing the pool. It only had one double bed (not a queen, a double), a desk, table and chair. No sofa. It was right next to the elevator, so that may have been why, but it was smaller than an average room.

The room you are put in depends on how many are in your party. We needed bedding for 5 people--maybe that's why were given the room with the 2 queens and a daybed. We were also traveling with 2 other families--they each had only 2 adults and 1 child (2 year-old)in their rooms and they were given the same room type as we had. We made our reservation together so, we had rooms all together on the same floor--side by side.

I would request a room with 2 queens and see if you get it.

As far as the view goes--I liked our view--it was really nice to see everything lit up at night.

You might try the mouseplanet.com website for pictures of the hotel and pool.

Good luck with your room request! Have fun!

I requested two queens, ended up with two doubles, no sofa bed and so had to have a roll away added to the room.....

Hey howdy,

1. Room suggestions---which tower/near the Neverland pool.

All the towers are close to the Neverland pool. Can't go wrong there. Sierra is closest to the park entrances and the monorail. So I'd recommend that.

3. Anyone have photos I could download of the Neverland pool.

I know LaughingPlace.com has some.

4. What is the Cove Beach---never heard of it!!

Cove beach is a smaller pool with a near zero entry area. It has a sand volleyball court and the workout room is located there as well. I think the hours on this pool are shorter than the Neverland Pool

Hope you enjoy your stay

Last time we stayed we were in the Sierra Tower the first night. On our second we were moved, (due to a mold problem in the air duct next door,) to the tower in the back by the water falls and water show. (Can't think of the name of that tower right now.) Anyway, we loved the Sierra tower. Spacious room, the bathroom layout, and our DTD and DCA view. We were not as impressed by the other towers room, and couldn't believe that it would be so different. (Not spacious, plain bathroom layout, and lovely music from the laundry room we were right above.)

I would be dissapointed in any tower if I received one of the smaller rooms. I can tell you though as passholders, who also usually, "cheap out," DLH is so much fun, and taking the monorail in the morning into the park was great. I hope you have a blast.

Hi there,
We were at DLH July 1-8.....stayed in Sierra Tower, Room 2857, located on the 8th floor. The "odd" numbers face DCA and DTD. The "even" numbers have a view of the pool. We opted for the DTD/DCA view. On the 4th of July...we decided to watch the fireworks from our room....ordered room service....and waited for the fireworkds just like it was New Year's Eve! The 4 of us (DH, DS-15, DD-9 and DM) opened the curtains and sliding glass doors wide....put the sofa cushions on the floor...and watched the beautiful fireworks show. It was wonderful to watch the crowds in DTD, hear the music and sit back in our room! It was great!

Our room had 2-queen beds....a day bed...and even had room for a rollaway.....we were very comfortable there...and with a one-week stay.....never felt "jammed" into the room...even with all the Disney purchases that were added to the room on a daily basis! Enjoy your stay!! Karen

Thank you all for the information! We really appreciate it!

It's only one night, but we want to really enjoy it! We will be at the parks Thurs and Fri, so Sun/Mon I want to do less park-hopping and enjoy our time at the hotel.

Anyone have any luck requesting a late check-out, and how early have some of you been able to check-in? We'll be coming from Cardiff Sunday morning, so we could make it any time we want!

Thanks again!!! Keep it coming!

Patti

One other thing!!!

We were offered $79 for PP, but think it's worth the $20 for DLH. Are we right???

I also forgot to mention we are a family of 5 (kids 8, 6 & 4), so I need the daybed/sleepsofa.

The bigger rooms in the Sierra Tower are probably given first to those paying for Concierge Service. It might be worth paying for an upgrade to get a bigger room.

On our second we were moved, (due to a mold problem in the air duct next door,) to the tower in the back by the water falls and water show. (Can't think of the name of that tower right now.)

That's the Bonita Tower. It could be that you were there while they were refurbishing. I believe that Bonita was the last to get refurbished, so that could explain some of the differences.

Cove beach is a smaller pool with a near zero entry area. It has a sand volleyball court and the workout room is located there as well.

The Cove Pool is on the far west side of the resort, just south of Goofy's Kitchen.

We were offered $79 for PP, but think it's worth the $20 for DLH.

I'd agree. The DLH is a little nicer and generally closer.
