Need help with room request for animal village lodge

We are going to the animal kingdom lodge villas in May. We have a savanna view. My dd has health issues and we would like to be by the pool. Can someone tell me what location would be the best. We will be staying at the newer DVC Villas not the main lodge.

You'll be at Kidani then. When setting up your room requests, just check off close to pool. It doesn't mean you'll get it, but do be prepared, it can be a loooong walk down those hallways.

The pool is on one side, while the savanna is on the other. So, would you consider across the hall from the pool to be "close?"

If you have a savanna view, you have a savanna view. You'll be on the inside where all the animals are. There isn't a bad view of the savanna in my opinion. Here's a link to the map of Kidani. http://www.focusondisneyworld.com/pdf/resort_maps/kidani.pdf

Your best bet would be to want a room close to the lobby.

If you do your online check-in, it will give you options: Click the box that says "near pool" if its there. I don't remember what my options were, but if "near pool" isn't there, definitely opt for "close to lobby"

It's difficult to be near the pool given it's set up and location. Even close to the pool can easily be 100 yards or more of walking when it's all said and done.

You can be on the Pembe Savannah, where it has all the animals as the other Savannas, minus Zebras & Giraffes, I believe. This will also be close to the pool possibly.

My favorites are the zebras and giraffes lol. Is the pool near the lobby? Maybe I will request a room near pool and lobby

Please go click on the link I provided. It shows the layout of Kidani. The pool is not really near anything, but the lobby is more than likely your closest bet if there's not an option for "close to pool".
