We are doing an 7-8 night stay next June/July. DS just got accepted into the CP for Jan-Aug :), so we are going down to vacation and see him. There is me, DH, DS 17, and DD 14.

I want to do POLYCL for sure for 4-5 nights at the end.

Should we do YC/YCCL for the 3 nights before? I loooove the theming, but am worried about the possible construction for the rooms. If I knew they were going to do CL first, I would book it just so I have a new room. Pool is great for my kids and close to DHS and EP.

Should we do PORRR for the three nights before cause the rooms are so themed and so pretty and DD asked? DS boat ride is a plus and it is cheaper. (Do not consider my DH or DS in this. They won't care.)

Thank you so much for your help!! I appreciate your thoughts.

It sounds like DD has an opinion. I like respecting that kind of thing within reasonable limits.

If one of your kids has a strong opinion, I'd consider it... but that said, I think the Yacht Club is the perfect place to stay with teens because THAT POOL. And so close to EPCOT. And Hollywood Studios. AND THE POOL! :) (What I'm saying here is, will your daughter get more out of the appearance of the Port Orleans resort than the whole family will get out of downtime at Stormalong Bay?)

Is there a particular reason you want to split your stay? If it's for budget reasons, then Port Orleans certainly makes more sense. If it's for another reason, well, take that into consideration instead.

(Me, I'd probably either stay at Yacht Club or at Polynesian for the whole trip. Not a big fan of picking up and moving rooms in the middle of my vacation. But if that's your thing, I hope you enjoy both of your destinations!) :)

Yes, there is a lot to consider. The views from the YC look amazing too. Thank you for pointing out the pool for teens. I know that would be a hit!

I would do YC, or BC since she has asked about that one too. One day when you are going to DS go to POR and wander around to let her see it then take the boat to DS.

IMHO, there is nothing better than a MK/EP resort split. It is definitely the best of both worlds giving you such close proximity to 3 parks and tons of restaurants and amenities.

The theming of the POR Royal Rooms is really cute, but, for us, we get over theming pretty quickly (unfortunately learned the hard way at AoA - cute, but SO uncomfortable!). After the initial oohs and aahs, you then have to get on with the rest of your vacation and having a bigger room and easy access to the theme parks, restaurants and other amenities is a major plus for me!

We have actually stayed in the mansions once, just not the RR. She like the resort. The boat was not operating, so that was a disappointment.

Yes, room/resort is key for us. We spend every afternoon there and sometimes incorporate a resort day or two. Thank you for your input!

If you spend every afternoon at the resort I'd hands down do YC over POR simply because it will cut down on travel time to/from EP and DHS. We usually stay at POR and take afternoon breaks every day, but the travel time back and forth makes me crazy!

Poly/BC split. We did it last year and it was amazing. My kids loved SAB and stayed in the pool a minimum of 4-5 hours a day. One day they were in there from 11 am - 6 pm. We left to Epcot but they refused to get out.
