THere really haven't been really good rates out lately. Seems to be pretty much across the board.

Just curious as to what you consider to be a good rate? As an aside, I doubt you will find any discounts for minivans for the next month, due to high family occupancy at the resorts and lots of families visiting the theme parks.

I have been watching and watching. I am so jealous of all of the great rates the May people got on alamo; but hasn't happened for us JUners! I am arriving JUne 22nd, same time frame as you. I was able to get a full size SUV from enterprise last week for our 11 days for 360ish all in...but not too happy with that. I also have a national emerald aisle ressi for 238; I will see what is on the aisle before I take the suv rental...sigh...:confused3 starting to lose hope at this point though! Someone mentioned the daytona races as a contributing factor for that time period...

The problem is that you want a minivan, and the rental companies charge a premium for them. Unless you have a minimum of 7 passengers it simply is not worth it; go for an ordinary full-size and it will be much, much cheaper.

Also, if you're not wedded to any one company, Hotwire or Priceline are very good for cars. I just checked, and you can get 8 days in a Full Size on those dates for $165 or via Hotwire. (Of course, the minivan will cost you $481 for the same period, even on Hotwire.)

Thanks everyone! There is a great deal on Ford Escapes for june for $169 a week at Thrifty. But we need something bigger...and it isn't for Disney. It is for a road trip OUT of Florida..LOL!

The rates have been coming down a bit this past week, but the coupon codes are not taking for Alamo or National.

Looking at the current last minute deals for National, there are none for the state of Florida.

Whew, I thought I was doing something wrong. I can't get any of the coupons to work for Alamo or National for August either. One day they worked and then yesterday I went to make a temp. reservation and they didn't work again.

I ended up booking the minivan deal with Budget for a total of $300 for the week. I prefer Alamo or National, but they are double.

On yesterday, after weeks of trying I was able to get the Costco code to work for Alamo. I went ahead and made a reservation because it was a mid-size SUV for $168.88. I also have a premium one reserved for $165.74 of course, I got this one right before they stopped accepting coupons. But yesterday they were back to taking Costco coupons for our stay june 14-21, 2011. I will be cancelling one of theses as soon as I talk to dh.

Costco Rate : Save Up To 25% with additional saving of $30 off.

I just had great luck lowering our rate with Alamo. I had joined the Insiders Club and was able to use one of their coupons for $25 off a three day rental.

We have 6 of us, so a midsize is not possible..we need a mini-van or full size suv :sad2:

Actually I just tried again using the codes I have on my current reservation and they are working again (weren't working for well over a week). Saved myself an additional $13.00. The base rate went down from $166.00 to $153.00.

My total is now $133.02 (Saturday to Saturday) from National, Emerald Aisle, midsize car, one way rental from southern FL to MCO. When I first started looking it was well over $200.00.

Codes using:

ContinentalAirlines: 5007160
National $35.00 off coupon: ND8578ADT (exp 8/31/11) Mailed to Emerald Aisle memebers.
