okay, here goes, now.( I have ownership at SSR. My girlfriend has ownership at BCV.

1. If I want to stay at BCV (which can be booked right now by her) can she book it for me?

2. Because I want to rent points (from anyone) for this particular trip, can they be deposited into her account? I do not want to use any of my points. A bunch of us are chipping for the points.

3. Do I just transfer points from mine to hers and then when I rent the points, they just go to my points bank?

4. Should I just stay put with the ressies I already have at SSR seeing it's right next door to DTD and most of the people I am going with do not necessarily want to go into the parks. They just want R&R.

I need some solid suggestions or known facts on how to go about doing all this the easiest way possible.

Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!! :confused3

Yes.

Yes, but the points will need to be BCV points if you want to use them to make a reservation at BCV more than 7 months in advance.

By the rules, if you transfer SSR points to her, they cannot be used to make a BCV reservation before the 7 month window opens. Transferred points are supposed to retain their original home resort and use year status. Since the DVC computer cannot automatically track that, transfered points often take on the home resort of the account into which they were transferred. However, I don't think you can count on that - it seems to depend on the CM who does the transfer and the notes he/she puts on the account.

If you transfer points to her, you cannot have someone transfer points to you during the same use year. Transfer may go only in one direction per use year.

Personal preference. Do you want the advantages of the BCV pool and the location near the Boardwalk? Or do you want the location next to Downtown Disney? Do you want control of the reservation and points or will it be OK for your girlfriend to have control?

You don't say when you plan to visit, but it sounds like it is at least 7 months from now. A lot can happen in 7 months when you are talking friends and girlfriends/boyfriends (or even family for that matter, LOL). We have read several "horror stories" from posters who have had friends and family back out on them. Have you discussed with your friends and girlfriend what happens if someone backs out? Hope that doesn't happen to you, but even if you don't think it will, it's still a very good idea to have a clear understanding up front.

Once you have points transferred, they are yours and the money is spent. You can't get the money back and you can't transfer the points back out again - you may have points transferred out of your account or transferred into your account, but you can't do both in the same use year.

Best wishes -

Here's a recent example of "why you need to be careful" with arranging points vacations for family and friends:

FredS' situation seems to have turned out all right for his family, but there have been several other reports where the Member lost points/money trying to be a TA. So just be careful and make sure you don't end up paying for someone else's decisions.

Best wishes -
