Need Help with Patterned Paper

How do you store your patterned paper??? I have so much, some in stacks and just singles. I am overwhelmed! Do you take your stacks apart and sort by color/holiday? I need some ideas. Thanks!

I sort my pp by holiday or theme (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Birthday, Disney, Travel, etc.) I also sort by striped, flowers, squares/plaid, circle/dots, boy, girl, etc. Some paper packs I separate and file into the above categories. Some I leave together as best I can if all the paper coordinates together (I still don't have the best system for paper packs either). I will say I try not too buy too many paper paper packs anymore, but it is hard.

I leave stacks together til I'm down to the last few sheets - some of the scraps I tuck into the stack, others I put with my other scraps. Other paper I put by line (if its a collection) or by flower/stripe/spot/season/holiday etc. depending how "definite" the theme is.

I don't buy packs any more b/c there are usually too many papers I don't really care for. I do sort by holiday, geometric, floral etc. I got a great paper holder at Hobby Lobby that is about 4 feet tall and has at least a dozen slots about 3 inches high so each one holds a different category of paper. It has a cover that goes over it to keep everything nice and clean and is on wheels so I can push it out of the way or have it next to me as needed. It rocks my world!

I sort by brand (ie Basic Grey, K&Co, KI) and those that I don't have many sheets I sort by color and/or theme. I rarely buy stacks because I only use a couple of the papers and the rest either just sit there or I give to my DD or give to others. It's a constant battle

I have these file things that my mom gave me. I think they are designed for art teachers to keep the assignments organized. No one wanted them at her school so they were donated to me. They are fine for now but someday I will upgrade. For loose paper they are grouped by color solid, color pattern (ie red solid, red pattern), primary patterns, brights patterns, pastel patterns, neutral patterns, black and white, Disney, and then collections that I want to keep together.

My stacks I keep together and I write on the spine with a Sharpie the name and if it has any special finish. If the theme is not obvious I will write that too.

I keep the stacks together until there are only a few sheets left, like a PP said. I think they look so nice all lined up I have two IKEA Alex rolling drawer carts for paper. For patterns that have a dominant color, I keep them with my colored paper. For example, I have a drawer for blue and if there is a paper with a gold on blue pattern, but it's predominantly blue, I keep it with blue. Papers with a specific theme or that don't have an obvious dominant color get their own special place - I have Disney, Christmas, other holiday, special occasion paper (wedding, baby, etc.), florals, and dots/lines. It sounds complicated all spelled out like that, but it works for me!
