Need help with our 3rd TS choice...

In order to afford to be on our next trip, we will need to be on a mega-budget. We have decided to limited ourselves to 2-3 TS meals only & plan to do CS for the rest of the trip.

So, we decided to choose 2 favorites & 1 new place to try.

Here is a list of TS restaurants we've done before:
-Boma (dinner)
-Beaches & Cream
-Biergarten
-CP (breakfast)
-Sci-Fi
-50's Prime Time

Our 2 fav choices will be:
1) Definately CP breakfast &
2) Either Beaches-n-Cream or 50's PTC

3) New choice. **This is where we need some suggestions**. As for our tastes & interests, we are usually more interested in theming and entertainment than we are foodies, BUT we were thinking this trip it might be fun to find one romantic restaurant. Last trip, Boma was actually our idea of a romantic restaurant (compared to the other places we went to!).
We would love to find a place that is special in theming, upper scale but still comfortable & relaxing, (V&A is too fancy for us!), and serves "american style" food (baked chicken, prime rib, fish, etc...). We would be ok with most WDW locatons (resort, park, BW), but we are not big fans of DTD & really wouldnt want to make the trip there just for dinner.

We were looking into:
-Artist's Point at WL b/c we've heard good things about AP & love any excuse to visit the WL
-Tony's Town Square at MK b/c I love Lady & the Tramp & it sounds romantic
-California Grill at CR b/c it sounds like a pretty cool atmosphere. We would want to go here around sunset though, not during Wishes because we heard it was a bit too hectic & crowded during that time.

We've never actually visited any of the above mentioned, so any advice would be helpful!

Suggestions for our 3rd/new choice??

- Sci Fi Lunch

- Le Cellier Lunch

- Mama Melrose's Dinner.

And for counter- I found my new fave. The El Pirata Y El Perico Restaurant in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom.

....I've never heard of El Pirata Y El Perico & will have to check that out since we'll be eating alot of CS on this trip!!

Any suggestions on the ones we were thinking for our 3rd choice?

Love Artists Point! Very romantic/elegant/secluded Really nice to stroll around WL after dinner

Haven't been to Cali Grill yet, but have always heard wonderful things. It's on our to-do list.

Tony's doesn't usually get very good reviews, so we've never tried it (even though I love Lady & the Tramp)

I would go to California Grill for your third TS meal. We've always had great food there and the atmosphere is fantastic! If you're interested in other suggestions for your third TS choice, I would recommend Narcoossee's. Both CG and Narcoossee's have great food, so the choice between the two would be tough for me. CG has a more varied menu, but Narcoossee's is more quiet and I would say more romantic, plus the grounds of the GF are beautiful to walk around!

I would definitely recommend Artist's Point. Check out the menu either here on the DIS or on Allears.net.

AP is large and handles the crowds well. It has the atmosphere, as you would expect, of a national park lodge --- beautiful decor with soaring ceiling and large windows. It also has large murals on the walls. It's fun to study them while sitting at your table, trying to find the hidden mickeys. If you've never eaten there before, and if one of you likes salmon, then I hope that one of you will order the cedar-plank salmon. It's the specialty and is delicious. Wines from the Pacific northwest. Their own microbrew beer.

Although we love California Grill --- it's a marvelous restaurant ---- I think that Artist's Point has it beat on the "comfortable and relaxing" part. CG has become so popular that it's just always bustling, at least whenever we've been there. In my opinion (just my opinion), CG isn't particularly special in theming ---- its setting is spectacular, though.

I haven't been to Tony's for dinner. We always used to love it for breakfast but haven't been back since they stopped breakfast. We figure that we can probably get much better Italian food somewhere else.

For a special, romantic dinner, though, I don't think that you can go wrong with either Artist's Point or California Grill.

You have completely sold me on Artist's Point!! I will check out their menu right now-thanks! Unfortunately, I detest salmon, but I'll let my DF know that it's their specialty dish, as he might be interested.

The only one of the three you mentioned that we have been to is CG. We absolutely loved it...but take look at the menu to see if you would like the food, as it is not "standard" food fare. HOWEVER - I am a very picky eater who likes plain food (while DH and DS love the fancier foods, sushi etc) I got a steak there and it was awesome....and they loved it as well.

We went during wishes - and I wouldn't do it any other way. I did not think it was too hectic. We had late reservations, and actually saw the wishes show before we sat down to eat. There is a viewing area outside and the fireworks were beautiful. It was busy, but all the restaurants we went to were...I didn't notice any difference.

Whatever you decide - hope you have a great trip.

Yes! Actually, I was just watching that movie last night & couldn't help but smile during that scene. When we saw it in the movie theater, my DF was actually the one who caught that. I was so impressed with him!

For me, it would be a no-brainer. California Grill all the way. They have the most extensive wine list on property and I could have cut my steak with a FORK had I wanted to. I swear, my DH dreams about the dessert he had so much that he downloaded the recipe and plans to take over my kitchen for TWO DAYS in order to make it!

I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and California Grill is in my top three favorites anywhere (behind only the Man Wah at the Mandarin in Hong Kong and Le Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower in Paris). Don't miss the chance to go.
