Need Help With Mmnsvshp!!!we Might Go...

I am trying to talk DH into a weekend trip during October because I really want to go to MNSVSHP. I will give you some of the details, and I would really REALLY appreciate feedback to help convince DH that we can do this! :
1. We have never done just a weekend trip. We have always gone for at least 5 nights. This will definitely have to be a weekend trip, unless it can be figured out otherwise.

2. We will have to fly, and we have never flown to WDW. We always drive down. This means we will not have our car, and we probably won't rent one (unless convinced otherwise!)

3. We would only be doing MK and maybe one other park (usuing up the other 1-2 days left over from our April trip).

4. How is pricing at Poly or Contemp? It would only be for 2-3 nights.

5. When is the best weekend? Keep in mind , we return from our Vegas trip (if we have any money left on Sept. 30. Because of scheduling, Halloween is out of the picture, so not that weekend.

Those are some base questions and info. I want to start planning this as early as possible, because I know how popular it is...AND I am really trying to convince dh!!!

4. How is pricing at Poly or Contemp? It would only be for 2-3 nights. Oct. is regular season so it might be a little expensive. Would you consider a moderate like Coronado Springs, CBR, or PO?

5. When is the best weekend? Keep in mind , we return from our Vegas trip (if we have any money left on Sept. 30. Because of scheduling, Halloween is out of the picture, so not that weekend. I'd consider Oct. 15 & 16 or Oct. 22 & 23. I know there is a big Golf tourney one of those weekends.

Thanks for your message TT. I would really like to stay at Contemp or Poly due to the fact of being "right there". Actually, now that I think of it, I wouldn't mind one of the Epcot resorts either. Figuring up my money today, I figures it would be ok to spend $1400. Now, this is considering I guessed at everything except food! LOL. I have no idea how much air-fare is. No idea how much resorts will be. No idea how much MNSVSHP is (extra). Ect, ect, ect. I don't think we would do the town car service, maybe the Magic Express (or whatever I keep hearing about) from the airport. I am about to start doing my research as soon as I end this reply.

I still would like some other ideas- how much IS poly/contemp usually? how much extra is the event? ect. Thanks again TT!!!

I think MNSSHP/MVMCP tickets will be close to $40/ ticket.

This may not help you now, but maybe in the future you should look into getting an AP. You get a lot of decent discounts with it. What is MNSVSHP, by the way?

With all these abbreviations in my head they get jumbled up!

TT- that's exactly what I budgeted too! Not bad for being "blind" about the whole thing.

I have found the WL @ $238 a night. I didn't want to pay more than $250 a night if possible. Poly is $318, but I know DH will settle for WL. It is so rustic there!

Now I need to work on flights. *sigh*
(I like how I act like it is such a hassle trying to get this organized, meanwhile I am truly LOVIN' IT!)

We stayed at Pop and found it great for the money, we were never in the room anyway. And transporation is great, no need for a car.

If memory serves me, I believe the Polynesian and maybe other Deluxe's require a 3nt. minimum stay, you might want to check on that.

Ooooh. Good thinking toad! But, I can do Fr, Sat, & Sun stay. AND... I just asked Dh last night, what he thought the cost of our little trip down there would be...he said "$1500". I said, "Nope! ONLY $1400!" So at least I saved us $100. LOL. I'm gonna keep trying though Honestly, it all comes down to how much we lose at Vegas

I honestly won't book air until July anyways. I still need to book my air for Vegas!
I also heard that the schedule should come out May 1st for MNSSHP, so I will wait until then to get a room.
