Hello everyone,

I am here in hopes someone can give me some ideas to celebrate my parents' 40th wedding anniversary in November. My parents have always loved Disneyland and anything Disney related. Every room of their house is decorated with Disney related items. Pictures, stuffed animals, furniture..you name it. Just to give you an idea, all of the cupboard knobs in the entire house are mickey mouse ears and all of the light switch covers are something Disney related not to mention the "thousands" of Disney Pins they have. Words cannot really explain it well. My parents live in the San Francisco Bay Area (Northern California) and have season passes to Disneyland in Southern California. They travel by car (7 hours one way) countless times throughout the year to go to Disneyland.

This November is their 40th wedding anniversary and am wondering if there is something I can do that is extra special for them. Something Disneyland can help me with perhaps. The entire family is going including all of the grandchildren. (This in itself is very special as we very rarely get everyone together at the same time). When I used to go there when I was a kid I remember people getting wished a happy anniversary over the speaker system throughout Disneyland. That would seem pretty cool and they would definitely get a kick out of that (who would I contact for this?).

But what else could I do?

My parents seem like they already know Disneyland inside and out. They have gotten to go some places inside Disneyland where others can't because they go there so much they have gotten to know some of the staff. I'm hoping there is something that can really "wow" them.

Any ideas you have are greatly appreciated! Thank you very much.

Mark,
I'll be watching this posting closely, as I am taking my parents to Disneyland in October to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We're having a Disney (carrot) cake at Steakhouse 55, have had some shirts made (they say ___ & ___'s Anniversary.......50 years of magic!!) We chose a hugging vintage Mickey and Minnie for the graphic, of course. All 9 of us will be wearing them through the park, which people are always kind enough to comment about.

Could you consider a hotel that is different than usual (you didn't say whether you stay on property, or if you just visit for the day since you live closer by)? By telling the hotel staff, I've heard of floral deliveries and other treats. Maybe even upgrades. Doesn't hurt to inquire.

My parents have never been there, so we are super thrilled to share the experience with them. Best of luck on creating great ideas!!

Since the entire family is going this time, how about a nice big cake with some of those super cute Mickey & Minnie toppers? I have seen some very pretty ones (they are dressed in their wedding attire) and I am thinking it would be nice to recreate the whole cutting the cake with everyone this time.

Maybe after a dinner you can bring it out as part of the celebration.

I think it's pretty magical to celebrate your 40th anniversary at Disneyland :wizard: Congrats to them!!

Disneyland does a wonderful job with custom cakes. You just contact Vacation Planning. Anyway, if you eat at a Disney Restaurant, you can surprise them with the cake. I surprised my DH with an anniversary cake at The Storyteller's Cafe a couple of years ago. It looked like the top of a wedding cake it was so beautiful and delicious too.
