Hi, so I've been searching on the forums awhile now and I'm just wondering if someone can help because I am getting stressed out about picking a fireworks spot for wishes.

My questions are:
Two days I am there so far the weather calls for rain and thunder. I'm not sure about DW but I know in DL fireworks are usually cancelled when the weather is bad I'm assuming that's the same or am I wrong?

I am going with my husband and we prefer to get a drink if possible and watch them. I know MK does not really have drinks so if there is somewhere worth eating and watching I am open to that also. I saw some restaurants pipe in the music as well. I can't find that thread again though. Any places anyone recommends ? We don't mind going to a nice place I just don't want to go there if the fireworks end up being cancelled and be stuck with a ADR. Is there a good bar in a hotel Or something?

Also am I missing out on a lot if I don't go in front of the castle? I am just shorter and I never end up seeing because someone throws the kid up right in front of me or something odd. Lol. I also don't like spending time waiting for a good spot and not riding rides or something else fun! :)

I was also thinking of getting a FP but then I'm probably in the same boat of not being able to see. Then I wouldn't be able to get any more FP the rest of the day if I got one of those?

I was going to do the firework cruise but it seems to not be worth the money.
So any help please! I'm going crazy trying to figure it out and I hope this makes sense. Haha. Thank you.

I believe the California Grill Lounge pipes in the music to Wishes and I don't think you need an ADR for that and since its a lounge they do have drinks and such and you can also order dinner from there as well. But I would get there early bc its a popular place to watch the Fireworks and probably 1 of the best places to see them. I have yet to experience it from California Grill but I am hoping when the kids get older we will be able to have a late dinner there and see the fireworks, lol. I honestly think thats your best bet to see them

Because DL is in the midst of a large urban area it's fireworks are often cancelled due to even moderate winds, but DW is totally different. Fireworks are rarely cancelled and will go on in spite of pouring rain or thunder. The only time it will be cancelled is if there are extremely high winds - think close to hurricane level. We've "seen" fireworks when the rain was so heavy you could hear the sounds, but barely make out the fireworks because of the clouds and rain. We were there one time when they were cancelled because there was a hurricane off the coast and while it wasn't raining in the parks, the winds were extremely strong.

I'm also short so often I often cannot see any projections on the castle, but I still like to watch the fireworks from Main Street.

Two restaurants that are popular for viewing fireworks are California Grill and Narcoossee's. You can go up to the lounge of the California Grill in the Contemporary Resort without a reservation, but seating is limited because it is also the waiting area for those with reservations. If you are going when DW is busy many others will have the same idea so you might have to plan to be there early. If it gets crowded in the restaurant the castmembers at the second floor podium will not let any one without a reservation go up to the lounge. The fireworks will be to the right of the castle, but the view is approx eye level because CG is on the 14th floor. Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian also has a lounge for beverages and a deck outside where you can view Wishes. Since Narcoossee's is at ground level you will be looking up at the fireworks which will be to the left of the castle. At both places you can order from restaurant's menu and also both places pipe in the music and dim the lights. Narcoossee's also has a great view of the cute little Electric Water Pageant.

Thank you so much that is very helpful!!

What time did you go to make it for the fireworks show? Like an hour or so before ?

We had dinner there and then went straight to watch wishes. We were seated for dinner around 8, wishes was at 10. Definitely get a spot on the balcony like 10 mins before it starts because it fills up!
