I am so addicted to the monorail resorts...but I want to try something different, would like to try the Epcot area....mainly because some of those resorts look beautiful and I love the idea of walking to Epcot and to MGM. So I have it down to:
Swan/Dolphin
Beach Club
Boardwalk Villas

Really leaning towards the Boardwalk, but would love any insight and info on these....I know everything about all the other hotels except for these. Was thinking about the Yacht Club but I hear they dont have so many balconies?
Need Help!

We were lucky and had a room with a king size bed and two balconies on our last visit to the Dolphin.

Oh..I love the king rooms with two balconies at the Dolphin.

Boardwalk is our other favorite.

Beach club..just ok.

I'm another fan of the Swan/Dolphin. They have some great discount rates available, or at least they used to, but the balconies are extremely small. I think the balconies at the Yacht Club are much larger, but I don't know how many there are. You might want to post that as a separate question.

I think there are better discounts for Swan/Dolphin. I have read here that the only difference is that there are no Mickey soaps, and no Mickey wake-up call. People rave about S/D. Never stayed there, but we own at BWV, and loved our first trip "home". Don't forget the Yacht/Beach, especially if you have kids who would like Storm-A-Long Bay. Decisions, decisions!

I love the Beach Club as I love its theaming and of course Stormalong bay. We usually stay in the BCV as we find it quiet yet we can wonder over to the hustle of the Boardwalk easily.

Beach Club. It has the shortest walk to Epcot, the best pool, and the right mixture of elegance and whimsy. The Boardwalk would be my second choice. Stayed at the Swan one time with my teacher discount. My wife hated it. She did not like the garish architechture or the color schemes. This is all a matter of taste. The Swan/Dolphin feels more like a convention resort tahtn a Disney resort.

If you are wanting a full-size balcony, you should consider the YC over the BC. The BC has many standing room only balconies. Almost ALL rooms at the YC have full-size.

We stayed at the YC and loved it. The boat service was great to both Epcot and MGM. We had no problems at all with the bus service to MK or AK. In fact there was a castmember there at the bus stop to give out info and answer questions.
Stormalong bay was wonderful. The castmembers were so friendly and helpful.
Lots of places to eat that are very close by.
We loved our room and thought the balcony was nice and large.
I think The Epcot area is a great place to stay. I don't think you could really go wrong with any of the resorts in that area but I think my first choices would be the YC or BC .

We stayed at the Swan this past May for the first time and loved it. It didn't really have the Disney feel, but the heavenly beds made up for that. It is worth staying there just for the beds. I love being in the EPCOT resort area. I love being able to walk around the lake and walk to EPCOT and MGM.

The Swan and Dolphin have great rates available. If you are an Entertainment Club member you get 50% off the rack room rate. If you are government, nurse, or teacher you get an even bigger discount. They also have AAA and AP discounts.

Take a look at the pictures of the rooms and you might be sold!

Our favorite is the Boardwalk Inn. We feel at home there. The rooms are pretty, the grounds are nice, the Luna Park pool is fun and of course the location can't be beat. We stay here the most often.

We have stayed at the Swan too. No Disney feel here, but the location is just as good as BWI and the rates are lower. Not to mention those heavenly beds ~ best bed we have ever slept in! We'd go there again.

Next we want to try YC. We want to see how great this Storm Along Bay pool is.

If you like balconies, go for the Boardwalk and make sure you get the Boardwalk view. Great view!

The S/D are our FAVS!! We LOVE staying in this area, everything is so convenient and always lively! Lots of balconies that even face EPCOT:p

DD enjoys Epcot the most so it is better for us, but we love the convenience of taking the boat or even being able to walk to Epcot or MGM.

We try to stay at the WL area on occasion and when we are there we really miss the EPCOT area, there's just so much more to do and you really feel like you're in the middle of the magic!

You can't really go wrong with the YC/BC or BW either, they are nice resorts.

I like both the BW and BC. We just stayed at BC in Dec. and request a balcony but got a room on the ground floor with a patio. It was great! We were closer to EPCOT (our favorite park to end the day with) and with two kids that little distance was wonderful. The pool is much better at SAB too. :earboy2:

Boardwalk Villas are very nice, but that's just my opinion. It's nice to have built in nightlife with the ESPN Club, Big River Grille and Jellyrolls right there. Don't even make the trip to PI much anymore because I can just head upstairs after a night of fun.
