Hello again,

We are driving in August (16th to 30th) but I am getting very confused on which route to take, I have read that it may be best to avoid the big cities like NYC & Wash and take the I81 then I84 (I think) to Scranton Pa then loop down and hook up with the I95 somewhere around Richmond Virginia or all the way down to NC or SC. I need help, what good places to stop if we take this route, I have the I95 book and love it because it's so informative about where to stop! We will be leaving NB around 4:00 pm and driving through the night then a long day so we may be able to get as far as SC or GA or even FL then stop overnight then have a short day the next day!!

Please all of you who have driven please give me some suggestions, really need help! Thanks

Here goes!!
:moped: :moped: :moped:
*From HOULTON:
Take the 95 South to Bangor/Brewer
*From CALAIS:
Take Route 9 to Bangor/Brewer
:moped:
*At BREWER, 395North to I95South (3 or so miles)
*I95 South to 495 (Mass border)
*495 to I90 West
*I90 to I84
*I84 to I81South
*I81 (hours!!) to I77South (now just north of the NC border)
:moped: :moped:
Now two options:
1)through Charlotte and Columbia. You could get lots of congestion around Columbia, depending on the time of day, so...
2)Go 77 to I20, then the 26
:moped: :moped:

*I26 on the south side of Columbia
*Rejoin I95 in South Carolina, continue on to WDW!!

Dad had all the miles, and there is a toll (on the 90, ???) He gave me this from memory, but he will check the map for the miles, and any other good info....couldn't remember the name of the motel, and the REALLY good restaurants they ate at:)

HTH!!
