Need help with dolphin reservation

We are going to Disney once again this year. However this is the first year that we have tried to get a reservations at the Dolphin for April this late in the year. We have stayed there two years in a row with the teacher's discount. Now I can't get a reservation with the discount.

Does anyone know whether they release some more rooms with the discount closer to the date or is this it? Will I have to venture to another hotel?

I have read about other people here on the dis with the same c/o this year. So maybe something is going on? They must really be limiting there discounts? I would secure another room elsewhere and still try for the dolphin if that's what you prefer? Many of us are waiting for wdw's ap rates after feb now if that is an option? Or the new packages are due out after jan. . Good luck, MKY

on the Teacher Discount, they said that they only reserve a certain number of rooms for the Teacher/Nurse discount and that it can even vary if they have a large convention going on. I would just call again and maybe ask for a manager to see if any additional rooms may open up. The staff at the Dolphin have always been EXTREMELY nice and helpful.

Hi Lopey,
I have the same problem. The nurse rate this year is 169, up from last 2 yrs and not available apr 17-24. AAA is avail 20-24 though at 189.50 if that helps. I still have 7 nites booked at Dolphin but also booked 3 nites as CS. Keep calling though as they may open more dates.

Have you tried checking availability at the Swan for the Teacher's rate for that time? As some of the other poster's have mentioned there may be something going on. They may have a few conventions going on which may bump out some of the availability of the teacher's rates at the Dolphin. Worth a check? Good luck!

I think something is going on--S/D has figured out how popular they are and are limiting their discounts. It does seem they are filling rooms during off times through hotwire or DIS/Allears discounts. I checked dates in every month of the ear on DU a while back, and the only days I could get a teacher discount of $169 was in Sept. Most of the time the "discount" came up as $259. So we are splitting our stay between CR and POR, unless a

Suggest that you check some of the internet travel sites like expedia. They have very competitive rates and the hotel allocates some of their rooms to these sites.
