Need help with decision for AKV

I must admit I know VERY little about the lodge. Both the jambo house and the new kidani village have availability. We're looking at just getting a value villa for that time.

What would you recommend?

Value rooms are only in Jambo House. Kidani Village will have Standard View and Savanna View rooms.

Here is a link to my trip report from June 2007 when we stayed in a 1BR in Jambo House. It should give you a good idea of the decor in the rooms. The value rooms should be similar sans the sleeper chair and some square footage.

There are a limited number of values, all towards the front of the Jambo (AKL) buidling, some have pool view, some parking lot and some savanna. You can request savanna or pool but no guaranteee you will get requested view with value. They are "value" not because of view but because rooms are smaller than all other categories of rooms.

I'm not sure what amenities (i.e. food, pool) will be up and running when phase 1 of Kidani opens. That may imapct you're decision on where to stay. I'd say check with MS to see what will be available in Kidani... if it won't be available and it's important to you, then Jambo may be the way to go.
