Any input would be greatly appreciated

Need help

We are debating the Tracfone as it is 19.99 for the phone and what appears to be 140 minutes on it. My inlaws are currently in florida till the end of the month and I can have it shipped to them. They will bring it back here intime for our trip and we will take them back down to Orlando with us and then acitvate them. We will not have a laptop with us, can we activate via land line?

Also we had considered the virgin phones and having them shipped directly to the CBR but they don't have air time on them, would we have to then designate time to go out and buy an air time card? Will a Canadian airtime card work on the US phone. Which is the better deal???

Anyone ? this is our frist trip of me, my hubby, my 2 kids and my parents. My parents are intending to be with us for a good part of the day and then leave and do their own thing. So we will need to meet/co-ordinate with them where and when and we feel the 40.00 would be well worth it.

Are you talking about the reconditioned Motorola phone below on the Tracfone website? That to me sounds like a pretty good deal - phone and 140 minutes for $19.99! If you have someone you can ship it to in the US, then I'd go for it. You can even activate them at home before you leave or like you said you can call their 1-800 number to activate when you get there. We've got 2 Tracfones as well and have worked great for us. We'll certainly use them on another trip. Let me know if you have more questions.

yes this is the one!

IF I activate it here, will I still get an Orlando number?

If you are ordering your phone online, then you put in the zip code of where the phone will be used before you select your phone. Just put the zip code in for whatever resort you are staying at. I had purchased our phones in the US and then activated them at home so that is when I had to put in the zip code. I used Pop Century's - 32830. So when you get the phone and activate it you may have to put the zip code in again.

I noticed on reading the bonus 60 minute promo deal and it sounds like you have to add the minutes by March 31. I'm not sure if I'm reading that right or not.

Yes I read it that way too, but if we missed out on a bonus 60 minutes, that's not the end of the world to us as we will have 80 minutes per phone and that will more than suffice. I couldn't figure out it it came with a charger or not...must go back and read

Do you have a paypal account? We hooked our VirginMobile account up to paypal, so we can add minutes online or through the phone itself. It debits the cost directly from our paypal account. Haven't had any problems with it so far. We let the minutes expire then added minutes to the same phone (with a new number assigned) the following year.

We are staying in a house in Windsor Hills so ordeing a phone and having it shipped isn't an option...Can we buy one there cheaply? If so where?

There is also places to find bonus codes online so if you don't get the 60 minute bonus you should be able to find another code. Just do a search on Tracfone codes and there are a few sites that will have them.

I would think the phone should come with a charger. The phones I bought came with the charger and manual.

Pre-paid phones are available at many places in the US. Try Walmart or Target. I got our Tracfones for 9.99USD in a Walmart in Montana last summer and then activated them at home before we left on our trip in December.
