okay, lots of questions, so please bear with me... the first set is regarding pool access, and the second is regarding elevators/stairs.

i was wondering where exactly the entrance/exit door to the Quiet Pool at BCV is?

bcvmap.jpg

on this map, is the door out to the Quiet Pool where one would think it'd be? i.e. directly in front of it where the longer "spoke"/"handle" and the "half wheel" intersect?

are there certain rooms at BCV that would offer the shortest walk through the hallways to get to/from the pool? (not counting the 1st floor pool view rooms... sure you could exit out the patio doors, but you can't lock those doors from the outside, right? heh.)

also, how do you get from your BCV room to Stormalong Bay? do you just have to trudge through the hallways, through the BC lobby, etc in your swim gear?

about elevators, i've read that there are 2 at BCV. from what i recall when i visited, there is 1 elevator bank near the BC? (on the map, is that elevator near where the shorter "spoke" intersects with the "half wheel"?)

so where is the second elevator located? is it in the area over the Canal?

also, where are the stairwells?

TIA for your help!

Good Morning, DB, hope all is well

I think I can help with some of your questions:

The entrance/exit door that I know of (it may not be the only one) also is by the "2nd" elevator - this may be hard to describe

I am not sure how familiar you are with BCV - If you start from the parking lot and follow the light blue highlighted line, it is in the "kink" as the blue and green lines turn down and to the left in the picture below - hope that helps

I am not sure exactly which room #'s but if I recall correctly the #'s on the 2nd floor that come to mind are in the 270 range. For what it is worth, we were in #252 which is the last room on the combination green/yellow "run" - this one has a great view of Epcot and to the right is the service area

As for stairwells, I recall there being a fair number - for example there was one right by our room, there is one right where the blue/green starts from the parking lot and I am sure there are others as well

thanks

Unfortunately - yes.

Yes - that place where the red, blue and yellow intersect is the lobby and first elevator is off that.

*********so where is the second elevator located? is it in the area over the Canal?

I was in room 461 once and it was across from the elevator. I would say it was right where the blue and green sections turn - where the longer "spoke"/"handle" and the "half wheel" intersect?

This is what I remember from our trip in November. Hopefully it is correct and that someone will correct it if it is wrong...

There are two places to exit to the quiet pool. The first is from through "the Breezeway" common room that is located near where you enter the BCV (short spoke/half wheel). This is also where a pair of elevators is located. The entry room is a round lobby type room with the entry door, 3 hallway entrys, elevator area, and 2 common room doorways. One common room "the breezeway" leads to the pool and has those large arc bookcases that you see in the pictures. The other common room is located on the opposite side of the entry room and has a large TV. It is a very pretty area.

The other pool entry is near the other elevator. I believe this is where the building bends as you come from the parking lot as others have mentioned. I believe the long spoke intersection is little farther down the hallway.

We had one of those rooms with great pool access on the first floor. It was fun just bopping out for a quick swim. And, yes, you can't lock it from the outside. :sunny: We were in 172 directly over the canal.

I know there is a stairway at the end of the hallway near the parking lot. I'm sure there must be a few others as well.

Hope this helps...:wave2:

thanks, everyone! this helps a lot.

so, do you think a room request to have a room near the elevators would also mean having a room with a short walk to the pool?

just checking. :)

The first room on the left next to the elevator is 166

so, do you think a room request to have a room near the elevators would also mean having a room with a short walk to the pool?

Well, short-ER because you will be closer to the exit. I think the walking part would be fairly short.

And do you mean quiet pool here?

Also - some have posted that some rooms near the elevator can be noisy with the elevator starting and stopping. I'm not sure just how close these rooms were - I think right next to the elevator.

We were in 461 - across from the elevator vestibule, but never heard it operate.

We stayed ina 2BR, room 134, at the BCV a couple of years ago that was absolutely perfect for running out the slider, across a little patch of grass and intot he quiet pool. The door was perfectly visible from the entire pool area, so we didn't really even worry about not being able to lock it, as we could see it the whole time we were there.

If you are near either one of the elevators, yes...you will have a short walk to the quiet pool at BCV.

The second elevator, which is a single elevator, is located where the BCV section that overruns the canal curves into the next section that overlooks the quiet pool. Our room was the second villa from this secondary elevator, and we could hear the elevator running at all times, but...the noise was not enough to really be a bother. If you were right next to it, that might be a different story.

The walk to SAB is not that bad at all. We did it several times with a 3 and 18mos. The only problems we had with the walk was getting back to the room because my 18mo didn't want to leave the pool. Go figure!!
