Hi

I have stayed at the Yacht Club several times in the past, the last time in 2007. This will be my first time in any of the DVC properties. Specifically we are staying in the Beach Club Villas in a studio. Does anyone know if the A/C is on a motion detector. The most important reason I didn't like the Dolphin was because the A/C was on a motion detector unlike the Yacht Club. I much prefer the traditional A/C because with the motion detector the room gets very warm when you are asleep at which point when the heat wakes you up you have to sit up in bed and start waving your arms around like a lunatic to get the A/C going.

Also I love coming back into a nice cool room and I dont mind paying for the privilege. I just want to be comfortable and if I have to pay extra-even though I dont like the idea-I will do it.

Can anyone tell me what the A/C situation is in the BCV studio.

Thank you all very much for the information and also any suggestions you may have for me. It is greatly appreciated.

We stayed in a Beach Club Villa Studio last Oct and didn't have any problems with the room staying cool while we were away or asleep. If I remember they also have ceiling fans which were nice.

I think just about all the hotel rooms and villas are on the motion sensor/body heat sensor for the AC. It's a way to keep costs down for DVC members.

BCV is motion detector. I own at BCV and I always get so hot at night. However, it doesn't bother me enough that I'd want to pay more in dues. :lmao:

Didn't notice all Disney hotel have the same type of units. Dolphin we didn't like because when you open the door to the balcony air would go off.

lmao...just booked a room at the Dolphin for next June and I am now wondering which one of us is going to wake up at night and start waving their arms and kicking their legs to get the a/c to kick on.

Guests have found ways around this.

Do a search for "Air Conditioning" or "A/C."

.

We stayed at BCV back in May when it was very hot, but did not notice the AC being a problem. Our group had a lot of hot natured folks and no one was bothered by it. In fact, I remember thinking the AC felt cooler there than other Disney resorts we've stayed at.

We stayed at BCV in a studio this past May also, I know there was a thermostat on the wall and I did turn down the temp once because I was freezing. Hubby loves it when it is cold and he had no problems with the A/C.
