Ok, small background:

My father and his finace, myself and my family of hubby and 2 boys are traveling to Disney in October.

Dad came up to me and asked me to find out about getting married at Disney. I kind of laughed and said, "Have a few grand??" Ok, he said they thought it would be neat to have a small civil ceremony type thing at Disney so I know it has to be pretty inexpensive.

They don't want to go all out, just get married there basically. I am sure they just want someone to marry them, have us take a few pictures and kind of be done with it.

I have called Disney and got their answering type service and have left my name and phone number and no one is calling me back.

Does anyone know if this is even remotely possible? Or even what the most inexpensive route to do a Disney type wedding?

And if not can someone direct me to somewhere in Orlando that they may do this?

Thanks soooooooo much!!!

Oh PS. They are going currently under the MYW package with free dining (staying at a moderate). So if anyone knows of any wedding/honeymoon package that would be somewhat equivilant in price and such, maybe a touch more, that would be fab!!

Disney’s least expensive wedding type is the Intimate Wedding. Another less expensive option is a wedding at the Swan and Dolphin resorts. For info about those weddings, visit http://www.swandolphin.com/weddings/weddings.html.

Here is some basic info about Disney’s Intimate Weddings. Also, be sure to visit www.disneyweddings.com for info and ideas.

Intimate weddings are limited to 8 people total (but can be increased to a maximum of 12 people for an additional charge). They are a package type of arrangement, meaning that while you will have a little flexibility (like choosing what flowers you like and what cake flavors you prefer), your choices are limited in exchange for a much lower cost. Intimate weddings include a ceremony followed by a cake and champagne reception. There is no reception with an Intimate. You are free to arrange dinner plans for your group after your renewal, but this would be at a regular restaurant, not a reception location. Intimate weddings include hotel accommodations and tickets, but you can purchase what is known as an “Intimate add-on” if you do not need accommodations and/or tickets. Since there are so many ways to get discounted rooms, this can be a less expensive option (since Intimate packages are booked at rack rates). I’m not 100% sure about the pricing, but I believe that Intimate add-ons at outdoor locations are $2300+ and Intimate add-ons at the Wedding Pavilion are $3100+.

Can you have his wedding at the beach of GF or BC? Then go to Yachtman Steakhouse or a meeting room to have a small reception? I am sure it will cost more than dinner would, but it would be nice.

Do you have other brothers/sisters that can pitch in to help the loving couple?

Nope, I am an only child for him. Can you clairify about having it on the beach? Meaning hire their own minister type person who is not with Disney and just have them perform a small ceremony on the beach?? Can this be done??

No, Disney does not allow unofficial weddings on their property. All wedding events must be booked through Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings. As harsh as it sounds, you could actually be asked to leave, so it’s not worth the risk. Disney does have some beach locations, but I’m not sure if they can be used for Intimate events or not. You can always check with your Sales Manager about that. The Polynesian’s Sunset Point is a beautiful outdoor location with palm trees and a view of the castle, if that’s what you had in mind. I think it’s so sweet of you to help plan this for them!
