I can't decide whether to head to EE at opening and get FPs and then go over to wait in line for Safari.
Or go to Safari first and ride and then go to EE and get FPs to come back much later (or will they be all gone by 9:45?).
Or just stand in line for EE first and maybe even FP so we can ride twice. Then head over to Safari and hope the wait won't be too long.
Decisions, decisions! Anyone try any of these options lately?

Get FP for EE, then go and wait in line for the safari. I imagine EE will have a much longer standby than the safari. Also, early in the morning, the FP's are usually for like a half hour-hour after you FP the ride, so you may even be able to FP EE again after you get off the safari! ;-)

We went to AK the first week of April on a non-EE day. As soon as the parked opened we sent the fastest two in our party to get EE fast passes for the entire group. The rest of us then walked comfortably down to the Safari entrance. Once there, we waited about another 7 minutes for the others to arrive. We still walked right on to the Safari at about 9:20am or so. I think our fastpass time for EE was from 10:30 to 11:30.

I'm going to let the others give you advice on what to do first but understand that these two attractions are pretty far apart from each other and the main entrance. You will be doing a lot of walking in a short amount of time.

I would go get FP for EE, then get in the standby line and ride it once. When you get off head into Dinoland and go on Dinosaur, Primevil Whorl. It will then be time for your FP to begin, ride EE. Then head over to the Safari and get a FP depending on how much time you have either enjoy the jungle trek or hop on the train to Rafiki's while you wait out your FP. Dinoland is much closer to EE than the Safari- if you want to do anything else in dinoland I would do it before going back to EE.

We went April 12th, I got FP then we went in the stand by line, it was only 15 minutes to wait and the park was open for 25 minutes already. The line actually goes right by the FP machines.

I got safari FP when the time allowed me to so we didn't wait for that one at all.

Right after we rode EE we went and rode Primevil Whirl twice as a walk on, then went to Dinosaur, again a walk on :)

Thanks for the touring tips. I want to ride Dinosaur and so going to that while we are waiting for our EE FP times is a great idea. I've heard it's best to hit the Safari either 1st thing or last to catch the animals at their most active. Has anyone rode Safari at closing time after the parade?

if you are going for an extra magic hour in the morning the safari does not open until the park is open to all guests so i would get FP for EE and then ride it because it didnt take long for us in line this past week hope i helped!

Is this new? Because every time we've visited we go to AK early open just to do the Safari and it's always been available. We were just there in October and that was the case.

I'd like to know also. I thought Safari opened when the park did even on EMH mornings. Next week I was planning on running over to get FP for EE while the slowpokes walked over to the Safari.
(BTW, I am so excited to be able to say "next Monday morning"!)

Going on the Safari after the parade is great. We walked on 5 times in a row without any wait. Each time there were only a couple more families on the same vechile. This thread is the one i was going to post. I still don't know what to do. I was thinking of going to EE and get a FP, then go ride Safari, then go ride Dinosaur, then go get a FP for rapids and then ride EE. Does that sound OK and will it be to late to get a FP for rapids as we usually aim to leave the park at around 2:30.

As I suspected, the information above about the Safari not being open during early EMH is NOT true. The Safari is not available during late EMH but IS available early. Here's the official list of what's open at AK during both early and late EMH:

Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park
Mornings:
Discovery Island™ Trails, It's Tough to be a Bug!®, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Pangani Forest Exploration Trail®

Evenings:
The Boneyard®, DINOSAUR, Festival of the Lion King, It's Tough to be a Bug!®, Kali River Rapids, Primeval Whirl®, TriceraTop Spin

We spent an entire day at AK during our spring break trip last March. We went on a day recommended by Tour Guide Mike. The kids rode EE four times. (Once was enough for me), We rode it when we first arrived at the park, and immediately got a fast pass for another ride on EE. We kept getting fastpasses for EE everytime we had an opportunity. While waiting for our fastpass ride times, we rode other rides in the park. The park did get very busy between 11am and 3pm. (This was a very busy week at WDW). However, before 11am and after 3pm, no attraction other than EE had more than a 20 minute wait. We waited to ride Safari until very late in the day. There was no wait at all-we just walked on. We saw lots of animals, including a very active lion. I rode Safari again while the kids and DH went to ride EE for the 5th time. Unfortunately, EE had broken down and it was closed for the day. My advice is go early and stay late, and use fast pass as often as you can and you should have no problem riding Safari and EE several times each.

We are planning on FP for EE then getting in the standby line.

I'm still unsure what to do about this one... I know that we'll go directly to EE, get a fastpass and ride in the standby line. But then, can't decide whether to head over to Safari in order to see the animals early in the morning or go to DinoLand since it's closer.

What to do, what to do???
