need help with a surprise

We're off the NY soon and I bought tickets to Wicked as a surprise for MrNeo. I don't tend to like musicals, he does and when he mentioned maybe going to see Wicked, I said I looked into it but that tickets were ridiculously expensive, so that shut him up.

I don't intend to tell him until we get to NY and now I'm wondering what would be the best way to tell him. I'm considering making a fake tickets to give to him.
Any other ideas? Can't cost much, already blew too much money on this trip and had a very expensive car repair bill last week.

I can't just take him to the theatre as we need to go pick the tickets earlier in the day.

What about thinking of what would be his worst nightmare show and, on the morning you need to pick up tickets, be really excited and tell him that you have managed to get tickets for this show - "how fantastic is that!!!" Then when you pick up the tickets and they are for Wicked he will be even more over the moon.

How about buying the Soundtrack (£3.99 on Amazon) it is the original recording from Broadway & is amazing. You can wrap it up & give it to him in New York on the day?
