Need help with a little extra magic for a surprise for our kids

Greetings!!

I have planned a visit to Tokyo Disneyland Resort this summer for my family. We would like to surprise our kids and tell them about the trip when we are at WDW the first week of April. Ideally, we would like to coordinate the surprise to happen while we are in Japan at Epcot. I would love to make this as special of a surprise as possible, given that this is a once in a lifetime trip, and I was wondering if anyone knew who I could call at Disney to help me plan something? I tried Guest Relations at Epcot last week while I was there, but like a lot of things, it all depends on the Cast Member you get (mine wasn't interested in helping).

I would love some tips on how to make this the most magical surprise it can be!

And if I have posted this in the wrong place, sorry! Please redirect me :)

Thanks!!

I think your trip sounds so exciting. I understand your desire to surprise them while at WDW but I would wait until the trip was over. What better way to lift the "vacation is over blues" than to surprise them with another trip. Have a great time.

I agree with PP- you could wait maybe a week after your trip or whenever you want to do it- maybe buy a souvenir from Japan in Epcot without them knowing and a snack, and get an I’m celebrating button when at WDW and get the CM to write going to Tokyo Disneyland
I think that sounds perfect!!! My parents went to Tokyo Disney a couple years ago while visiting family stationed in Japan. They absolutely loved Disney Sea!!!! Just Be prepared for massive crowds!!!!!! Sounds like a wonderful surprise, have fun and safe travels!!!!

I would also focus on Disney World for this trip and wait until after you're home to reveal the upcoming TDR trip.

However, it sounds like you already have a plan in mind and need the assistance/participation of someone at Disney for your reveal.

If it is as simple as having one of the Japan Pavilion castmembers hold up a sign or something similar you can stop by Guest Relations on the day of to explain what you want to do. While I don't think there are character meet and greets in the Japan pavilion if you want one of the characters involved during their regular meet and greets elsewhere in the park you can ask the character handler if your plan is okay.

If it's something more elaborate such as having Mickey make the reveal you will definitely need to contact Disney in advance to find out what can and cannot be done. You would be able to arrange a private meet and greet with Mickey or another character, but it won't be in any place where others could see the character (e.g. in the middle of the Japan Pavilion). It will also be expensive.

I don't know who specifically you would contact, but you could start with Disney Floral and Gifts, Enchanting Extras or event planning. If they cannot help you, hopefully they can direct you to the correct department.
