So...I'm not pregnant yet. Without going into too much detail, I will find out at the very end of our vacation next week if I am and just in case I do get a positive test, I want to be prepared.

I'd like to include some kind of announcement with all our vacation pics so that when people are going through them, they will come across something that declares we are expecting our second child. I thought I could get some creative input here. I was thinking something along the lines of getting infant mickey ears and holding them on my belly and then taking a family picture...maybe asking a restaurant to write it in chocolate syrup on a dessert plate...I dunno.

I'm not too worried about not ending up pregnant...it won't be a big deal and I won't be sad if a picture gets taken and the test is negative so that's not an issue.

Thanks for your help!

I wouldn't do it. If you will JUST be finding out you are pregnant, there is like a 1 in 4 chance that it won't take, for whatever reason. My sister was addicted to HPT's when she was TTC, and had 3 positives that turned negative before one stuck. If it was even a few weeks later, I'd say to show them to CLOSE friends and family (because it's hard getting the word out when everyone knows if you m/c). Not to be a debbie downer - it just seems that at least of 1/2 of my friends have had at least one (early) m/c.

Good luck!

Thanks but I've had a miscarriage and a healthy pregnancy and I'm prepared for anything. The people that will see them are all people that I would tell if I had a miscarriage anyway.

I'm just looking for some creative ideas.

It would be so cute to hold a sign while getting your picture taken in front of the castle, or you can make up a cute t-shirt to wear in the picture. So when your family/friends look through the pictures they will have to take a second look. I have a few maternity designs I used when we were down there last March. I could send them to you, if you would like to takea look. Just PM me with your e-mail address. So when your family/friends look through the pictures they will have to take a second look. Good luck!

How about having a character write a congrats in a autograph book, then showing it off?

I have a 2004 WDW souvenier named Ellie;)- good luck to you!

T-shirts? "Disney Mom & Dad-to be" or something to that effect?? Or maybe the Photopass photographers could help you do something?? I hope things work out for you!

Even if you don't get to use the pictures now you could always save them for when you are pregnant ;) I second having the photographers help with a magical picture, pretend you are holding a character like a baby and have a caption that says "just practicing"

I love that idea to sneak something in! I don't have any suggestions but I love the idea!!

I'm like you, we told as soon as we knew. The people who knew where the people I'd want to know if we had had a miscarriage. :) Good luck and here's to a positive HPT!!

How about getting to the park early one morning and getting a picture of you and DH sitting on the street facing the castle, and have a small pair of Mickey Ears in between the two of you that say "Baby" on the back, and you two each wearing ears that say "Mommy" and "Daddy".

Thanks for these great suggestions!

I wonder if the photopass people could put in a baby mickey and we could have our 2 year old holding him? Might look more like a stuffed animal instead of a future family member though. ;)

Last night I thought of maybe buying our son Mickey ears and writing "Big Brother" on it and taking a picture.

I forgot to mention my mother will be with us on this trip so we'd have to hide this all from her somehow!

Then I definitely like the baby Mickey ears. - DH can take a quick pic of you while Grandma is distracted watching your older one enjoy a playspace or a fountain. (If you try to do a family pic without her, it will be harder to hide.)

Hold the ears against your belly and point to them with the other hand. (If you can guess the due date, maybe even have the shop put the month on them where they usually put the name!)

At AK the photopass people can put in a baby Simba by the tree of life. At least they did last year when I was there with my niece. They had her hold her arms like she was holding a baby and Simaba was there when we got the picture. Good luck!

after 17 years of wishing on a star....we told my Dad on his birthday by giving him a cross pen engraved with the word "OPA" on it, he got VERY excited and said, "wow, how cool, u found my Fathers pen!!" He didnt get it,,,and thought we had found an old pen that belonged to his own Dad...LOL...BUT my MOM figured it out and jumped around kissing me and DH like a looney! She kept saying "o thank u, oh thank u!!" Wish I had it on tape!!

so........... my vote is for the new Mommy ears, or new grandma ears,:thumbsup2:yay:

I would definitely hit up the photopass photographers. Maybe try the ones at the entrance to EPCOT or maybe it's at MK where they grab you and have you hold your hands out in a cupped position and then they graphically add in a ball. If you tell them what you'd like to do I bet they could have you stand sideways with hubby behind you and you can cup your hands under your "belly" and then have them put the "ball" in the place where your nice big tummy will one day be! You can then add a caption to the photo such as "Soon my tummy will be THIS BIG" or something to that effect.

Slightly off topic, but one of the suggestions reminded me of how I told my mom and husband I was pregnant with our 2nd baby. I bought our 1 year old a shirt that said great big sister in big letters across the front. I went to lunch with my mom and I kept waiting for her to say something and she didn't. So finally I asked her if she liked Gracie's shirt. She says "oh..... yes.. its cute." I was dumbfounded. How could she not get it. I said "Mom, do you realize what it says?" and she sits for a minute and then goes "are you pregnant"? I told her yes, thats why Gracie was wearing a big sister shirt. Then she tells me she didn't think I was pregnant when she first saw it, she just thought I got the shirt on clearance and that why I had her in it! She thought I was that cheap!:confused3

I mean, I am cheap, but not that bad. I wouldn't put her in a shirt that said like "Worlds cutest son" or something. I guess people think I am cheaper than even I realized!

My hubby was almost as bad. I asked him like 3 times (as he watched tv, my fault I guess) if he liked Gracies shirt. He kept saying yes. After about 4 times of me asking that, he looks at it for 2 or 3 minutes and says "are we having a baby?!?" His look was priceless. :goodvibes

I love this story! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I would go more subtle. If you go out for a nice dinner, take a picture of you "toasting" - with milk in your glass. Take a picture of you "waiting for your dh to get off a ride" standing next to a pregnancy warning sign. Get a picture in a gift shop of your two year old shopping - next to a display of baby sibling items. Plop your two year old in a double stroller and take a picture with the empty spot available. Toss in a really obvious picture on the last page.

Its all quite simple actualy~ (two ideas)
All you need is a full belly up shot of you with or without hubby. Then find some thin strips of label stickers or something you can put a "banner" over the belly part in the picture. you have to write "THIS SPACE FOR RENT" then over that one.. a little cockeyed.. put another one that says "occupied" or "rented".
the second idea
Take that same picture and show everyone the "souvenier" you got at disney world. Then show the picture with mouse ears on your belly with an arrow pointing to under the mouse ears so they get it.
Good luck to you!
