Need Help w/using Freq.Flyer Miles

I would like to use FF points for my dh and myself next Dec.7-13. Do I call as soon as first date is available or do I wait til the return is available ?? Any one know what the earliest date I could call for Dec. 7 would be??(they are USAir points.) Any help would be appreciated, never used FF points before. Thanks everybody !

then you should call as soon as you can and discuss alternate dates. You should have a "window" of dates on which you can travel. Frequent Flyer miles can only be used in a limited way. They only open up so many seats on each flight that may be use as Frequent Flyer seats. I had to extend my stay by one day in order to be able to use my One Pass miles.

Normally you can start booking your airline tickets 330 days out from the date of departure.
FF seats are limited, so make your call on that exact date.

I would call as soon as you know your dates. They will tell you if it's too early. Frequent Flyer seats to Orlando fill up fast. Also, if you can't fly direct (non-stop), it makes things more difficult because FF seats have to be available on ALL the flights you need to get you to MCO.
