Need help w/ free dining promo, please

Is it possible to get discounted rooms and get the free dining promo as well? I read I could do that, but others places say it has to be off the regular price? Anyone know how we can get the best price? We're going during the free dining in August and staying on property in prob a Moderate resort (possibly a deluxe). Need 2 rooms. What's the best way to get the best rates? Do we just call Disney and book over the phone and tell them we want the free dining? Or are we going to be missing out on lots of savings if we do this?
Also, I've read mixed terms with this. Some say 3 nights stay and other say 5 nights stay at the resort. Any thoughts ony why this is different on some forums?

We have always gotten good deals through AAA, if you are a member it can not hurt to find out what they can do for you... To answer your question, yes call Disney and see what they can do.

As for splitting up your stay between two hotels, I hear it done all the time, but we have never done it. Every time we consider it, the hassle of packing up mid vacation and moving just seems like too much hassle. What hotels are you thinking about doing?

Disney usually does not let you stack discounts, you either get free dining or room discount, unless they are running a promo that specificall includes both

Don't want you to get excited then disappointed. To be eligible for free dining, you must pay rack rack (no discounts), stay a minimum of 3 nights, and purchase at least a 2 day pass per person. Hope this helps.

You can only use one (1) discount.

You MUST ask Disney for the discount to be applied, (just traveling during the dates it is offered does not mean you will receive it, know the code and ASK for it.) Or, you must book through the "Special Offers" link provided on the Disney site.

You need to figure out which discount is the best for your family, and see if it is available for your dates and resort. It helps if you can be flexible with your dates.

Disney only sets aside a certain number of rooms at each resort for discounts. When they're booked, they gone. So, it pays to be flexible with your resort choice.

The Free Dining discount will be directly related to the number adults (10 and over for dining and tickets) and the number of children in your group, multiplied by the number of nights you stay. (Dining plan is per night.)

Room discounts, a % off the room, will depend on dates of travel, resort choice and the length of stay.

Depending on the number of people in your party, resort choice, and the way they like to "dine" or tour the parks, different discounts will be more valuable to certain families.
