I thought I understood about ADR's....you want in the popular restaurants you make a reservation (ADR) 180 days before the date you want to eat there. No prob.....found an online calculator that says for my first day there, January 13, 2008, I can call and make reservations on July 17, 2007.

But....now I'm seeing this 180+10 and I'm confused....is this 10 days BEFORE my July 17 date, or is it simply that on July 17 I can make reservations for each of my January 13 through 22, 2008 restaurants? What if I'm staying more days (we're staying through Feb 9).....I guess I have to wait until July 26 to make the rest of my ADR's? Or technically I guess I could call on July 18 and make a reservation for January 23 and each day after that?

Does this +10 make it any easier to get CRT or some of the other super hard ones?

I know many are having trouble with ADR's right now, but that appears to be booking for during the free dining plan.....are ADR's that hard to come by for Jan/Feb???? I don't mind calling, but I'm on the west coast and the thought of getting up every morning at 4am to make phone calls...well, I don't know if I can be coherent at that hour, lol.

I called on the 180th day from the first day of my trip and made all my ressies for the week. That is my understanding of it. I'm not sure how it works if your trip is longer than 10 days. There are limited times available because they leave some open for those calling on exactly the 180th day. So we were limited as to the times, but all are around dinner, nothing too early or too late. We got CRT dinner.

I've also been trying to figure this system out. My understanding is that you can book for 10 days from check-in once your check-in date is 179 days away (because the 180 days is actually 180 days to check-out if you were only staying 1-night).

But, I haven't tried it yet, so I'm not certain.

Do you have to book for the first day, first? Or, can I start by trying for CRT and LeCellier later in the trip?

Help will be appreciated.

ADR Calculator to figure out your 180 day mark.

It's exactly 180 days from your check in. Then you can book 10 days worth of ADR.

Many seem confused by this litle perk, even some CMs who book some guests ADRs too early and then cause more confusion. However, it's 180 days from check in with the ability to book 10 days worth of ADRs.

Oh and CRT only releases about 20% of their tables for this perk. They save the rest for the true 180 days to make it fair for everyone.

Thanks, that's good to know. Then if I can't get my first choice of times, I could always book a second choice and then try calling back on the true 180 day and see if I can get my first choice (cancelling the second if I can of course). That does seem more fair.....I was envisioning this being the reason it was so hard to get CRT if people have already booked it the 9 days before I call, lol.

Leave it to Mickey to take something that should be easy and make a system out of it, lol.

Just to also mention to the OP that you are right about being able to only make the first 10 days of your ADRs at once, and then having to call back for the rest. I would think honestly that for early Feb dining you probably don't need to call the first possible day for the second batch. I'd probably make my first 10 days of ressies at your trips 180 mark, then call back when it is a few days closer to make the rest of the ressies all at once (rather than calling every day to add one more ressie). With the exception of CRT which doesn't release all their seats at once anyway, and maybe Le Cellier, I doubt any other places will be too full if you can't stomach all that 4 am calling!

So is it 180 days + 10 days making it 190 days, meaning you can book 11 days worth including day 1 or is it you can book 10 days worth including day 1? So say my first ADR was for Aug 4th and my last ADR was on Aug 14th. Thats 11 days. Would I be able to make all 11 days on my 180 days out or is it just until Aug 13th and would have to call back a few days after I make my first set of ADRs for my last day - Aug 14th? I always got the impression it was 190 days because of it being 180 days PLUS 10 days, meaning the 180th day for Day 1 of the trip PLUS 10 days after Day 1 of the trip.
