Hi everyone,

I just need some ideas on how I can surprise my Dad and Stepmom on their anniversary, which will be spent with us in the World in January. I thought about getting them a PS for California Grill, but they're more of a laidback sort that I just don't think they'd enjoy it very much. I thought about ordering a cake from the GF bakery (we'll be at POR, by the way). I'm just not sure what is available to do for them. Any suggestions? They're very casual, easygoing, & relaxed 58 year olds.

Thanks in advance!

I have been admiring the gift baskets at the disney florist - not sure of the url (maybe someone else can help?)

They have some really nice ones - with chocolates and the like. I'd have it delivered to their room while you are out during the day so that they can return to the room that evening to find it waiting for them! ;)

Otherwise, you could talk to the concierge or guest services CM at the resort and see if they have any recommendations :)

How about a carriage ride around POR?
I know you said that they are the laidback kind, but you might be pleasant surprised they just might like CG. :D

What does that mean exactly? That they prefer more of a casual atmosphere??

I think it would be great to treat them to the "Hoop de Doo Review" at Ft. Wilderness! You can dress in flannel and jeans if you like and enjoy a wonderful, slap stick style dinner show while eating some great fried chicken, ribs, corn, beans, strawberry shortcake. (*includes all you care to eat and drink. even includes beverages, soda, tea, coffee, beer, and wine!)

It is definitely different and we won't ever forget it!

How about the rehitching ceremony at the Garden Grill in Epcot? This is a revolving restaurant (overlooks part of the ride in the Land pavillion) that has a character meal served family style. I surprised my DH with this for our anniversary. They ask the couple to stand up, they announce the occasion to the rest of the restaurant and then they "rehitch" the couple. We also received a small cake. I've heard that sometimes the characters join in the fun but they didn't for us.
You can also have the ceremony at the afternoon Ice Cream Social in the same spot, but most people report not receiving a cake at that time.
Have fun!

Hi
Don't know if you are interested or not, but my DD gave my husband and I an autographed picture of Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger. I love Eeyore and so she told them at the front desk we were there celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and they had a picture taken, autographed, and sent to our room. They also put a refrigerator in our room too, just because they wanted to do something extra. I thought it was really nice and I treasure my picture.

Can't wait to go back for Christmas and staying at the new PC!!
