Hello everyone,

I was wondering I am looking at taking my Fiance to WDW here in the next few months in attempt to show her I really do care about her. I have been going through a lot financially which has worn me out mentally but I want to make something special.

With that being said I am sorta on a budget. Do you guys have any ideas on what we can do for a short get away weekend? We already have anytime tickets to any of the parks but I want to make it something special.

She is a huge Disney fan and loves Cinderella and all that. She is like a big kid at Disney. Personally I am not a huge fan of Theme parks in general as I work in the industry but Disney is the best of them all...=)....So any ideas on how I can make it special for a descent price? I won't set a limit as I am open to ANY suggestions you all may have.

Please any info will be greatly appreciated...=)

:welcome: to the DIS!

A little information would help.

Will it just be you and your fiancee? Do you have any preference for when you will be traveling? How many nights? Are you going to be driving or flying? Are you looking for free activities? Inexpensive but unique experiences? Night life beyond the parks?

Having an idea of what you want to do will help us to advise you on how to accomplish it on a budget.

One thing that you could do at Epcot is look up the phrase "i love you" or the phrase "i can't wait to marry you" in different languages - so, go to Italy, maybe buy a glass of wine or champagne to share, and tell her you love her in italian...go to mexico, say it in spanish..etc. Just do something special, like maybe a marriage or love tradition in a few epcot countries in that language, and then go to a nice dinner or a really indulgent dessert!

If you happen to be going while the MK wishes dessert party is still available, that looks like a nice, special time, and could be very romantic. It isn't cheap, but I feel like it looks reasonable to make a special evening.

If she loves Cinderella, 1900 Park Fair at the GF has a very nice buffet dinner, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother and the mice are there. Sometimes Prince Charming is too, but her own personal Prince Charming is already there right? :thumbsup2

I hope you find something that you will both enjoy.

Of all of my WDW trips with my bf both of us agree the most special time we've ever had at WDW was during our last trip. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had a few hours to kill until our dinner at 'Ohana's and were coming back to MK later that night (they were open until 2 a.m. that night). So we took the monorail to the Poly and got a couple of drinks at the pool bar and walked over to the hammock area. There was no one else out there and the sun was just starting to set. We layed there watching the gorgeous sunset, watching the resorts/MK turn on their lights, listening to the water hit the beach and the breeze through the palm trees, just talking about our future together. It was amazing and will now always be a tradition for us.

I've done the carriage rides at Ft. Wilderness and POR, and while they are nice, it was awkward for us to talk with the driver a couple of feet right in front of us. We felt like we had to keep up a conversation with them.

Also, maybe write down your top 10 memories separately on cards in envelopes and/or reasons you can't wait to marry her. Then hide one in the room for her to find while she gets ready, slip one under her menu while she goes to the bathroom at dinner, lay one in the seat of a ride and say "What's that?", etc. (I would keep them small though so you could just keep them in your pocket until the right moment) That would be romantic and keep her guessing when the next one is coming!

During Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party last year Cinderella's carriage was out near the Haunted Mansion. it was available for photos ( you could sit in it etc) If you were to go during that time, you could surprise her with that photo opportunity. I really loved the previous posters suggestion regarding the time spent in the hammocks.

Loving this thread! Please keep the ideas coming! My hubby and I will be celebrating 9th anniversary at Disney in October. So far, I have planned a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness and am sharing a wishes cruise with some other disers. Would love to hear some more free ideas though........:goodvibes
