My DSS (7) has finally decided he wants a Disney trip for his Christmas gift this year.
The plan is to be there Dec. 13-16 as his gift from us, with a few wrapped presents from "Santa" under the tree on Christmas. Overall I think this will work better because we split the holidays with his mom (and between DH and my own family), so the time we usually spend together is rushed. I feel like we hurry him through opening his presents and getting in good playtime before we go to the next house.
I want to know how I can make this the most memorable gift so on Christmas Day he still remembers what we did for him. I don't want him to feel like he is lacking anything. We do plan on taking him to the Lego Store at DD to pick out a couple of things as physical gifts he can take home. He'll get pins for trading while he is there, etc.
Should I get a gift basket sent to the room? Have a small Disney-themed present for him to open each morning?
*We are skipping the Christmas party. He's more of a ride kid
and could care less about the parade or fireworks. My husband and I did MNSSHP a couple of weeks ago and would rather go to MK on an Extra Magic Hours night w/o paying extra for the ticket. We are already Annual Passholders.
*He's over the characters already, which is good because those autograph lines get way too long!
