Need help removing the background

I saw this design on FB and thought it would be cute on a t-shirt. I want to put it on a pink shirt so I would need the pink to be removed from the background so there isn't a different colored pink square on the shirt. Also, I don't know if the image is big enough for a shirt, can you clean it up a bit if it's not a good enough quality? I'm not going back to DL for another month so if you have the time I would really appreciate your help on this. Thanks so much!
