My dd who is 14 is now in a leg cast and will be for our trip to wdw. Never have rented wheelchair before but see they are first come first serve . My fear is getting to wdw and not being able to rent a wheel chair becuase they are gone. Is that something i should be concerned about? exploring all options here. Thanks.

I have been several times and while the hotel may not have any more, the parks have plenty. I have never come across a problem where they were all gone.

Also if you look at the stickies on this forum, you will find some outside vendors who will rent you a wheelchair for the week.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILTIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. The top item is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including where people rent wheelchairs.

I would strongly suggest renting from an outside source, especially since the Disney wheelchairs you cannot adjust the leg angle while the outside ones you can. Also if you rent from outside they will ask his height and weight and provide a properly sized chair.

Also, if this is a hard cast you may want to have the person who will be removing it draw a line where it will be cut. Then bring along some :shapies" and he can have the characters autograph the cast, being sure not to sign across the line. Once the cast is removed he will have a very unusual souvenier of the trip.

Just got back and had to rent a wc for a couple of the parks we had no problem getting one and there was a lot of them. If you will need one for each of the parks you have an option of renting it for all of the parks when you rent the first one. We paid for MK and Epcot at MK and only had to show the receipt when we went to Epcot...have fun
